Arrival Story:
We didn't need another pet, actually didn't even cross our minds to want another pet. We already had two dogs, two cats, a parrot and two cockatiels. My husband and I were taking a walk around the neighborhood one evening when we heard a distressed mewing by a driveway. We went closer to find out where it was coming from. It was coming from the tiniest, scrawniest little calico kittten. No mother cat, no siblings were around. Of course I couldn't leave her there so I picked her up and put her my jacket pocket. We decided to continue our committment to our "half hour" walk and come back and see if we can locate the kitten's family. Well, of course that didn't happen. In the morning we took her to our vet because her eye was badly infected and figured we can put up an adoption notice at the same time. By the time we got out of the vet's office my daughter said, "Mom, we are keeping her" . No adoption sign went up and another litter box came in. A happily ever after ending or beginning... depending on how you look at it.
