Arrival Story:
Chester belonged to my husband and his brothers. He found his way to their campsite in Ohio during a trip. When noone claimed him - he came along for the ride back to Jersey, where he "ruled" the house for 23 years..Chester was KING! and all the pets knew it well.

Chester was an indoor/outdoor cat. He spent most of his time outside and loved to take the dog for a walk. When we got out the dogs leash, he got up, and walked with us--no matter where or how far. Every day-at 6pm, when my husbands father came home on the bus, the cat & dog without human intervention, walked 1 block to the bus stop, waited for Dad to get off, the dog was handed the newspaper and the cat trailed behind. He was lost twice, kidnapped once, and returned home safely to us each time..He moved 5 times and each time, befriended the mailman and delivered mail with him within a few blocks of the house (that's how he got kidnapped the first time). He died of old age and a full life! Note: During Chester's "Catnapping" He was brought to a Animal Hospital where they put him under anesthesia to clean his teeth... The vet guestimated him as 13-14 years old, when in actuality he was 22 years old. We read about a "grey long haired cat for adoption" in the paper and new it must be our chester (which was catnapped from our street) His kitty tear-away collar became tangled on a branch and thats why he didnt have identification. Called the woman and demanded his return.... The woman who nabbed him made us identify him with about 10 photo's (The photo's you see here today were not good enough identification for her) Made us pay a few hundred dollars for vet bills, newspaper ad's and I guess a "return fee" and held the cat hostage until we got "serious" and then she relinquished Chessie to us..while he cried in her car the whole time... Wacky People!
