Arrival Story:
It was a cold, rainy day when Daddy was preparing a rental house for new tenants. I came to the door and scratched and meowed. I kept saying, "It's sooo cold, sooo wet -- please let me in." But Daddy thought "We have enough cats" and ignored me for a while. I became so insistent that he could no longer ignore me. I even climbed up the screen door and screeched, "Meeeeeooooowwww!" Daddy carried me across the street and presented me to Mommy as her birthday present, and she immediately wrapped me in a dryer-warm towel. After I was dry, she proceeded to make me wet again by giving me a bath and picking the fleas off me one by one. Whew! What a relief THAT was, let me tell YOU! She put medicine in my ears for earmites and made an appointment for me to see the vet. I didn't really like that, but at some level, I knew it was for my own good.
Bio:
Even though I was to be Mommy's birthday boy, I just fell in love with Daddy and have been his ever since. I follow him everywhere and supervise everything he does. I'm a very handsome tuxedo kitty, thus my name, Mr. Silk because I'm as smooth as silk. My Daddy was born and raised in Philadelphia and when he was a young boy during the Great Depression, there was an old Black man who used to go through the neighborhood selling ladies' undergarments door to door. The ladies called him Mr. Silk. Daddy always loved that name and thought it was an appropriate name for me, too! Mommy chose that name before Daddy even TOLD her the story! What kind of coincidence is THAT? UPDATE: On May 7, 2006, Catster honored me by choosing me as Cat of the Day! I got some new friends because of that honor and thank Catster for picking ME.

I was tagged by Cleopatra Grace.
It's a Halloween tag game. I am supposed list five things I like about Halloween and then tag six friends.
1. Autumn is Mom and Dad's favorite time of year. They were married on Mischief Night (October 30th).
2. I like costumes.
3. I like to see others dressed up in costumes.
4. Mom is EXTRA protective of me at Halloween because I'm a black (and some white) cat.
5. I like Halloween kitty treats....and doing tricks. MOL

My beautiful bride of only 26 days went to the Bridge today. She was so brave and tried so hard to be strong so she could stay on earth with her loving family, but her little body just couldn't take any more. She fought valiantly, but it wasn't meant to be. She had CRF and her Mom and Dad did everything they possibly could to keep her with them longer ....
I'm so glad we got to spend our honeymoon together on Cat Island for two glorious weeks. I wouldn't have traded our time together for anything in the world. Missy, I will love you furrrrrEVER and you will never be forgotten until we meet again.
