Checking In & Raspberries!

Hi FurFriends..
I hope everyone is enjoying springtime.
Last week out of the blue I started coughing and coughing. Mommy rescuer thought I might be having an asthmatic attack, so she got the inhaler ready and gave me a puff. It helped for about two hours then started over again. She thought it was too soon to give me another puff so she called the Doc and they said to wait another hour or to just bring me in. Mom rescuer is always worried about my heart, so she rushed me in. They immediately put me in oxygen therapy, til I was stable. Needless to say, I had to spend the night, they did a chest X Ray and everything was normal. Mom got a call the next morning saying that I may have an upper respiratory infection again and that I was sort of snorting and making noises when breathing. The ER Doctor on call said I may have a polyp or something in my nose that got infected. It seems like every time I go to the Doc they find something wrong with me, as I have a lot of things wrong with me already. I've been taking a raspberry antibiotic liquid (doxycycline) for the past week and have a few more days to go. Raspberries! They recommend a scope of the upper airway to rule out polyps or some other abnormality. I'm hoping I don't have to have this done, but whatever it takes, Mom said she'll try to make me feel as better as I can. I seem to be normal and acting crazy. I do miss my Brother though, as I like to cuddle with him at night, anyway I have Mommy all to myself this week. Feel better Bro, Purrs!

Diary Pic & Thank You

I would like to thank Catster for the honor of me being a diary pick again today and to all my friends for the big congrats, cool comments, rosettes/gifts, and pmails. Thanks to Milo O'Snuggles and Patches for the beautiful memento's for my page but most of all for your friendship. I had a wonderful day, the weather was warm and we had all the windows open, Mommy rescuer and my Brofur KiKi were in the yard picking catnip and they brought a big bunch for me, I rolled around in it and showed her my belly, I think I got like a bazillion kisses. Oh.. My Bro KiKi is a little under the weather and we're waiting on some blood work to come back, so he'll have to write about it in his diary. He's such a cool dude and I'm so happy he's my Brother..I love him bunches and I show him all the time by giving him kisses, after all that's my Irish name!

Me & my peep

My Mommy rescuer bought me a little hopping wind up peep toy a few days ago, I've been having such fun chasing him all over the kitchen floor. This afternoon she wound him up and he was heading for my water fountain, he took a dive right into the fountain, yep he's all wet and hop-less. Daddy tried helping too and dried him out but now he only hops backwards. Oh well, what's a kitty to do now? My new toy went kaput!

Oh my Cat! Somebody pinch me. I'm Cat of the day! I want to thank Catster for this honor and to all my friends for the big congrats, stars, rosettes, comments, pmails, friend request and memento's made on my special day, but most of all for your friendship. I do have some pawsome friends. I also want to congratulate all the other furs on their diary picks.

It's been a wonderful day and I'm enjoying the nice weather we're having can you believe it's almost 60 degrees here in January! My Auntie who lives in Florida sent me & KiKi some kitty grass for Christmas and it's full grown today, so I had that as my treat. I saved a little for my Bro.

I'm a happy boy and so grateful that I got a second chance in life. I wish the same for all homeless kitties and doggies too and hope they find their furever home just like me.

Happy New Year & Thank You

It's a brand New Year and I want to wish all my pals a very Happy & safe one. We had a pawsome Christmas and Santa left some great presents.

I had a pawsome Birthday too and I want to thank you for all the cool rosettes, special gifts, pawmails, comments, and really cute mementos my friends made me. Catster pals are the coolest! Just three years ago I was captured. The rescuers were so happy, and so am I.

Merry Catmas!

I've been napping under the Catmas tree waiting for the big guy. I got tired of waiting and finally went up stairs on the cozy bed. I've been a good boy all week.

Holiday mishaps

I'm ready for Santa. I hope the big guy in the red suit isn't too mad at me and leaves me a stocking full of coal after what happen, you see a few weeks ago my Mommy rescuer was putting the Catmas tree up and I got in between her legs, as usual playing with the garland. Well, unfortunately Mommy had a little mishap and fell. Oh, she's fine but her toe isn't. She got it jammed and she fractured her third little piggy. Ouch! She's been wearing one of those hard shoes and she's hobbling around. There's really nothing you can do but try and keep off of it as much as you can, this isn't fun when I'm hungry. I've been trying to help out and lie down on her so she doesn't get away. My meals haven't been on time, and the service is pretty slow around here. Mom says I have a very bad habit of walking in front of her. In spite of that Mom & Dad bought us a new kitty tree and the Mondo scratching post. This post is so cool and it's huge. Squeakers and I have really been enjoying it. Mom says she's gone thru many posts over the years and decided on the Mondo. I give it 5 paws!

I want to wish all my friends a very Happy Holiday from our house to yours. I'm gonna to see what mischief I can get into next. It's almost breakfast time, where's Mom?

Happy November!

Hello Friends!
I hope every kitty had a fun Halloween, I slept through it all. I wanted to let everyone know how I'm doing. It's been a little crazy here at the homestead. I've been a sick boy for a couple of weeks. I spent two days in the ER but I'm doing a lot better now. My rescuers were really worried about me beings I have cardiomyopathy and rushed me to the ER at 2:00 AM cause I was having a hard time breathing. The nice ER Doctors were able to get me stable and then I had to see the Cardiologist a couple of days ago, and we found out that I have asthma, just like my Bro KiKi. My heart is controlled and stable. I am taking the same medication now as my Brother and an albuterol inhaler. I don't like that mask I have to wear, but it's making me feel better. So now when I have an attack like I had two weeks ago, the rescuers give me a puff of albuterol in a spacer and 10 breaths through the mask. My Auntie from Florida is here visiting with me this week and we're all having a fun visit. I am really warming up to her. The last time she was here I did a lot of hiding! Maybe because she gives me treats. She can stay longer if that's the case. I'm also rolling around and showing her my cute belly, I have to show her how charming I can be.

My week at the Hospital

A few days ago the rescuers woke up to the sounds of me coughing and shortness of breath. They were so worried because of my cardiomypathy. They thought sure it was a fur ball, but I wasn't getting any better, so they rushed me to my regular Vet. They did an Xray and showed I was in congestive heart failure. My rescuers were devastated. I was in the hospital for 3 days in oxygen. They also gave me lasix. The Doctors said I needed to go see my cardiologist as soon as I could, but couldn't get any appointments until today for the ultrasound/EKG. My rescuers also noticed I was sneezing and wheezing last night. Well, to make a long story short, the cardiologist examined me and did a echocardiogram/EKG today and the good news is that I am not in heart failure. He explained to Mom & Dad rescuer that the Xrays that were performed during my hospital stay showed heart failure when actually it was my fat, and sometimes fat mimics fluid, beings I'm a big boy. I do have an upper respiratory infection/fever which I'm on clavamox for. The rescuers thought sure they were going to lose me. I'm happy to say (crosses paws) that I should be ok for now and to keep checking my breathing rate/pattern like she normally does. Mommy rescuer was so upset with the diagnosis she was given at my regular Vet, but they were reading the Xray correctly as fluid in the lung. I'm so happy to be home and resting comfortably. This has been a stressful week but hopefully I'll be doing a lot better with lots of love rest and prayers.
