Today is National BURD DAY

Oh my gosh. I had no idea. Mom saw it on that FB thingy. Today is national BURD day. Quick. Help me think. How should we celebrate this occasion?

I'm thinking a big, juicy turkey maybe? Nope, takes too long to make.

We need a burd! How can I celebrate national burd day without a burd in the house? I know cats who have finches and parakeets and fun things like that. Why can't we have burds, Mom?

I know. I can finally get that burd off the Christmas tree. Yes, it's still sitting up there. Yes, we still have the tree up. Mom says they usually leave it up 'til January 6 in Germany because that's Three Kings Day. You know. The three kings from the east who brought presents to baby Jesus. I love our tree. I bat at it sometimes. I'm happy that it's still up. Yes, I will remove my Christmas music off this page, eventually.

Need to take a nap now and dream about burds.

Dear brother. I found this burd here. He's up for adoption. I think he would be purrfect for us. What do you think? I am an experienced burd lover and he would get lots of attention for sure:

"Check out this gorgeous Senegal parrot we have in adoption! Mondo talks, loves music, dances and makes "Star Wars" noises! He's a really fun bird who loves attention and can't wait to bond with a new family. He needs experienced bird owners and much prefers women to men. Meet him at bla bla bla"

We get big crows outside our window, will those do? Also Audubon's big bird book was up for auction today at Christie's, I think, that would have given you tons of beautifur and exotic burds to keep you amused and bemused, MOL!

Dear sisfur Mietzi - that sounds like a great burd you found there. He makes Star Wars noises! That sounds like a fun burd. But aren't parrots very big? I hope he's cat friendly.

MoeMoe - you are such a good cat helping your Mom take the tree down.

Pipo - Thank you for offering to send a crow but I don't like the way they talk. Craw, Raw, Raw. The Big Burd Book! Oh, that would be fun reading indeed.

Prrince Tao - Chicken! There is an idea. Yes, they are burds for sure. Mom is on FB, we are not. She's kinda boring on there but we'll ask her to add you, later. She's gotta go work again first.

For national BURD day, we had a big ole giant roadrunner in our yard! He dug up a lizard and carried it away in his mouth. I'll bet the Tabbies O Trout Towne would have liked to have seen that!

A roadrunner, Violet? You sure know how to celebrate National Burd Day. We don't have roadrunners here in Iowa.

Hi Tabbies - hope you're feeling better now. Burd Day is over. Have some nice trout for supper, OK?
