Today Mam took 3 large boxes filled with fabric 'n 1 large box of trim to the local high school's Department of Performing Arts. She 'n Da came back all choked up 'n teary 'cuz the kids were so excited to get the stuff. One girl in the costume department said they hadn't been able to make any new costumes this year because they didn't have fabric. Mam said she just about cried right then 'n there. She's reely upset to think that people would consider cutting out the arts when it comes to school budget issues. Football gets a lot of outside support, but just about the only support the arts departments get is from the students' parents and the students themselves. She used to do a lot of amateur theater 'n still gets yearny about it from time to time. I wonder if I could get a part in one of their plays.
