Arrival Story:
I had always said I wanted kitties. It was a long time before we lived someplace where pets were allowed. One day, I came home from work & Dad asked me to get something from the bedroom. I went to look, but didn't see what he was asking for. He told me to turn on the light & when I did I saw a ball of fluff on his pillow! I thought it was one kitty, but soon realized that it was 2 kittens cuddled up together! They were so small I could hold one in each palm & now they're both over 20 lbs.

Fred & his brother Ricky started off as Lucy & Ethel. They were so furry, we didn't know their gender for a long time. When Fred wants love, he'll have his love. Even if I'm busy, he'll jump up & make himself comfy on my chest. He's not happy until his face is less than an inch from mine. As he gets older, he's getting to be a cranky kitty, but he's entitled because he's been such a good kitty.

All I wanted was to sit in Mom's lap. Oh, okay, on her chest. In her face. I love Mom & this is comfy. But she wouldn't let me. And when she got out of her chair, I'd sometimes try to sit in it. And she'd dump me out. I miss being the king of the house. *sigh*

A Little Like It Used To Be

I did all of my usual laying. On the dryer, on the scratcher, in the chair, on top of the couch. The other day, Mom did something she hasn't done in a long time. She was sitting in the chair & holding that button-thing & staring @ the noise & picture box. When she does this, she doesn't move. At all. For a long time. So I went to sit on her like I used to. The dogs were sleeping, otherwise I don't think I'd have been able to. She didn't push me as far down as she usually does. She let me get close to her face & she petted me. She didn't even mind too much that I drooled on her. Just to be nice, I didn't put my claws in her clothes. That seems to make her more happy.
Yesterday those dogs were being rowdy. So I swatted the closest one to me. She yelped. Sissy. I didn't REALLY get her. Besides, she's not the one I meant to get. The big black one isn't too bad. The one I really want to get is the loud little one. I don't like that one at all. I stopped growling @ her, though, which means that Mom doesn't tell me to shut up anymore. Why did those things come into our quiet house?

I laid in the chair. I laid on top of the dryer. I laid on the scratcher. I hissed @ the dogs. I laid on the scratcher some more.
