Arrival Story:
Our other cat, Tiger, needed a buddy. We picked the most playful, loving cat we saw. She was too small to be spayed (only 2 lbs) so we had to be her foster parents at first. She immediately became sick and needed vitamins and antibiotics. She fights like a samurai, although Tiger thinks vitamins are a treat. Kali came from a litter of cats found by a family. She was kept in a box in the backyard of someone's house. Her mother was probably a homeless cat. All of her litter got sick, and one sibling died. :( She was the last to be adopted. We brought her right into the house, and although at first Tiger was upset and wouldn't share her food bowl, Kali was climbing on Tiger, kissing and snuggling her, within a couple of days. Tiger couldn't resist the love and starting kissing and snuggling back. Kali is so loving and social that she simply wormed her way into everyone's affections right away. Not a surprise, however, b/c her name tag at the shelter said "I need extra love." When we got her and she was so sick, she loved to get in my face at night and kiss me, but she kept sneezing on me, so I trained her to lay across the back of my neck. She still does it. She couldn't or wouldn't really groom herself. She'd take one paw and rub it across her face. Tiger had to step in a groom her. Now she's a sleek 9 lbs and my vet says she wishes all her cats were as perfectly proportioned and maintained as Kali. She answers to Baby as much as to Kali. Kali fetches, plays soccer, butts heads, esquimo kisses, has her own language of play vocabulary, and loves her parents very much. She also loves her sister and although they have dominance battles. they also play together and romp all over the house. She also grooms Tiger a lot and pretends to be submissive, but bothers Tiger. After reading about Bombay cats, we're convinced she must have a Bombay parent. She is actually a chocolately brown and has some tabby style stripes that only appear in certain light. She has the nose, eyes, and face, as well as all the behavior indicators. She's our Baby. She is crazy, however, and no matter how many toys she's got, she still gets herself into things. She's becoming an excellent lap cat and bed snuggler. In the past, she's confined herself to the end of the bed, but recently, she's snuggled up by my legs or side. Since she's so soft and silky, it's really nice. She also has become a computer snuggle cat and sits between the top of the back of the computer chair and our necks. She's doing it right now and saying "Muhrack" which means play. She will make a sound, and then if I repeat it, she will do it again. She is always coming up with her own vocalizations that are completely different than Tiger.

Kali is constantly making up new games, activities, and noises. She loves to be held over the shoulder with her butt supported. She is truly like a baby to us because of how she acts. She is very soft and silky and just loads of fun. Sometimes she's even too fun, hence the reason we don't decorate for Christmas. We have nightmares of her climbing something, knocking it down, breaking it, and eating it. Tiger is too smart to eat stuff that is inedible, but Kali is not. She's kind of like a goat, or thinks she's one. She loves her new brother, Happy, so much. They kiss and romp and fight all the time. She kind of thinks she's the Momma cat, though, and helps keep him clean. Although he's now as big as she is, he's obviously still a kitten.

I'm the Mama

I let Tiger and Happy be the boss of me, but that is because I have a little secret. I'm really the Mama cat in this house. After all, I keep everyone groomed and I keep Tiger and Happy's butts clean. My Mommy and Daddy think I was the runt of the litter. Well, maybe not THE runt b/c all of my litter got sick and one died so maybe he or she was the runt. So maybe I'm the second smallest. In any case, I always submit and show my belly to Happy or Tiger, but then I've been known to straddle Tiger and groom her. I also will pin Happy and kiss him into submission. I know that the Mama cat keeps her babies' butts clean and grooms them and makes them look pretty. So in my mind, it doesn't matter who acts submissive or dominant, I KNOW I'm actually the boss. But I won't tell Tiger and Happy if you don't. They can go on blissfully ignorant of the REAL state of affairs.

Head butts, snuggles, grooming, and LOTS OF LOVE to all,

My parents sometimes worry that Happy is being too aggressive with me. When we first started romping, Mommy and Daddy even put him away in the bathroom b/c of the noises I was making. I went to the door and started crying. Mommy and Daddy couldn't understand how a five pound kitty could lord it over a 10 lb kitty, but it sure seemed that way. Now, Mommy has noticed that sometimes I will pin Happy, although then I just KISS him. I sure love my Boyfriend. And he loves me. But sometimes I make these awful noises when we're playing. Then again, Mommy is not sure what noises I am making and what noises Happy is making. He's not very vocal, but sometimes he's making noises and they don't realize it's him. What do you all think?

Check out his page. His name is Happy. And he is a happy, mellow cat. I love him soooooooooo much. I tried to be his friend from the minute he came home. Mommy and Daddy were so proud of how sweet I was. Mommy says I made all these noises she'd never heard before. It's because I LOVE him SO MUCH. He growled at me and that made me sad and mad. Tiger hissed at him right away, but I TRIED to love on him. He got over it and loves on me, too, now. Check out our pics on his page. We are so inseparable that Mommy and Daddy haven't got many photos of him without me. he's my boyfriend, they say. I don't know what that means, but I LOVE Happy.

Love to all,
