Arrival Story:
Sydney was found under a car in the garages behind my apartment building as a tiny 5-week old kitten. We were on our way to the grocery store, and if my ex-boyfriend hadn't have been there, I probably never would have heard her. She was so tiny, she barely had a voice. He heard her crying and crawled under the car to get her. Then her lungs made themselves known!

She was so little I had to feed her with a bottle for a while. I slept on the futon in the living room for 2 months because she was too little to get up or down off my bed. She couldn't even make it on the futon without a pile of pillows to climb on. One morning, after her 4:00 am feeding, she was being what we now know to be her normal, evil little self, and she was chewing me up like I owed her money. My 4:00 am brain started calling her "little vicious". From there we went to Sid Vicious. Thus, her true name was born... Sydney. At the time we thought she was a male. It's a good thing Sydney is good for a male or a female. ________________________________ She is not the most cuddly cat and dislikes pretty much everyone, except me. But even me she likes to chew on at least once a day. She never uses her claws though, not even to play really. It's always the teeth. There's a photo of her where she looks just like a little vampire bat, and it's a rather apt representation. ________________________________ She's still a littel feral and will try to cover up her food with anything that's nearby. She can get rather mean and plays really rough sometimes. I've gotten used to the teeth marks though. Clipping her claws is a carefully orchestrated effort. My aunt comes over, calls me from the car, I put Syd in the bathroom and let my aunt in. She goes into the kitchen and stays silent while I put on a leather jacket and elbow-length leather welder's gloves. I then get Syd out of the bathroom and hold her head and those lethal teeth at bay while my aunt clips her claws as quickly as possible. You may think I'm kidding... I'm not. She has bitten through the leather welding gloves once so far when I wasn't holding tightly enough. I was bleeding to prove it. It's like trying to hold onto a greased pig with exceedingly pointy sharp teeth who wants nothing more than to shred you to pieces. ________________________________ Then there are the times when she sleeps completely upside down next to me, or plants her face in the palm of my hand and chortles in her sleep. Or when she stands on my chest and purrs in my face to wake me up in the morning. Or when she stands on the side of the tub, crying with a horrified look on her face because, God-forbid, I'm sitting in a tub full of... *gasp*... WATER! ________________________________ We have an understanding. She's my beautiful girl no matter how evil she is.
