Has it really been three years?

Wow, I can't believe it has been three years since I made my journey to the Bridge. I am so happy and healthy here and I have lots of friends, but when I looked down on mom today, her eyes were leaking. She is still very sad about my having to leave. She really wishes she could have just one more day with me. Mom, just remember that I am so much better here. I still look in on you and I will send you signs like the one I sent to you today. I know that dad said no, but you will be able to get through this. Much love to you mom.

In Loving Memory

Five years ago today, my sister, Flirt went to the Bridge. She was a very sick little girl. She was in the final stages of renal failure. She was at the vets office on IV fluids for a day and my mom went to see her when she got off of work. Mom could tell that she was very close to leaving and told her that if she needed to go that it was okay to go. She, however, held on until my grandma got there. She was actually my grandma's kitty, but my mom is the one that originally fell in love with her. Mom had to leave for a little while and when grandma got there, the vet tech let her hold Flirt. When mom returned, she went into the area where Flirt's cage was and found grandma with Flirt in her arms. Grandmas eyes were leaking really badly and she looked at mom and told her that she was gone. Flirt waited until grandma got there to let her spirit relax and make the journey to the Bridge. Flirt was a great kitty and we could almost pass for twins. Mom and Grandma really miss her, but I am with her here at the Bridge and we are both happy and healthy and we keep an eye on them.

My Bridge Day

Two years ago today, my mom had to make the very difficult decision to send me to the Rainbow Bridge. I had been sick for about a week and when my grandma took me to the vet, they said that I was in renal failure. He said that they could put me on fluids and medicine, but it would just postpone the fact that I was going to go to the bridge. The thing that made it even harder on mom was that she was 1500 miles away and couldn't do anything. She told grandma that they couldn't put me through all that just to keep me around for about 3 more months so grandma took me back and they released me from my pain. I have been very happy here at the bridge, but I know that mom misses me. I was her heart kitty. Special purrs to you today mom. (Especially since you are sick) I love you!
