Arrival Story:
One day my husband was standing at the kitchen window and saw a cat carrying her kitten across the backyard. We'd never seen the cat before and thought "Oh, no you don't!". I followed her and saw that she took the kitten into a storage area we have behind the garage. When I found the exact spot, I was surprised to find seven kittens! I worked at a veterinary office at the time, so about a week later I loaded her and the kittens up and to the vet we went. She stayed there until the kittens were old enough to be adopted and then she was spayed and came back to her "home".
Bio:
Hussy is primarily an outside cat and is an incredible hunter. We've seen her catch birds in flight and she even snagged a jackrabbit once. We have opened the front door countless times to find her latest prize waiting there (or parts of it anyway). She is also very protective of her home and will go after other cats or dogs that enter her property. She is so proud of herself when the neighbors Jack Russell Terrier runs off yelping. As the years have passed, she is a little more lenient but does not back down if challenged.
