Well Gamma has been working on getting the kittens used to her. She has a porch swing on her porch, and when the weather's nice she goes out and feeds them, then sits on the swing. She doesn't move or anything...she just lets them come up and eat. Usually Susie will come first, then bring up the babies.
Gamma was out there Thursday fur a while and she said Ginger looked at her fur a while but didn't come up to the porch. Daisy ran away, and Rascal didn't show his (or her?) face. They stayed hidden. Oh this is gonna be a loooooonnnnng process....
Today, Gamma got treats since someone suggested that putting out treats on the porch fur the kitts while she's out there is also good. Why does it take so long to gain their trust? Time is growing short, and soon the girls will be able to have babies if something doesn't happen...oh please please please purray these kittens COME IN THE HOUSE!
The funny thing is the kittens will come up to the porch and play or sit, but only if Gamma's not there. Oh we wish she could gain their trust so she wouldn't have to trap them....Mama can't go and help cuz she can't get the time off to go. DARN.
One last (sad) update - one furiend we contacted did call Gamma but they said they already have lots of barn cats so didn't need any more. Wish we could adopt these babies!

Just tell her to be patient.
But they're already at least 2 months old....we know female kittens can get preggers fast, and there is probably a tomcat around somewhere (one has been spotted). How long does it take befur they'll trust Gamma?
It takes some time to gain trust. I think the time varies. Tell your mommy to have patience and keep up the good work.
Only thing dat works is time
Yup, time time time... :( too bad we couldn't have brought the kittens up in the house when mama was there!
BTW the kittens will not eat dry food, only the wet (canned) stuff....mama suggested she not put out canned and instead put down moistened kitten chow first, then eventually dry kitten chow. Is this a good idea or bad one?
