Hi efuryone,
Got an update fur you!
Mama called the vet that my Gamma brought one of her cats to ofur in Coudersport, PA. They said right now Gamma should try and bring Susie ofur to be spayed first since she could get pregnant again, and that the kittens could be done afterward. Gamma has asked mama to call and schedule the appointment, so she'll call back tomorrow and do that. We'll also find out if Susie needs to have shots first or not.
We have "guestimated" the kittens are about 8 weeks old or so as of this week, since they were probably 2 weeks old or so when mama visited Gamma July 4th weekend. (Mama heard them crying under the house.) The vet said that by now Susie should be weaning them off and helping them get used to solid food. It will take about 2 more weeks fur Susie's mammary glands to go back to normal. THEN she can be spayed. So Mama thinks she should make the appointment fur the week of September 5th or 12th.
Gamma said the kittens are coming close to coming in the house and sometimes appear interested, but run off. Gamma has to be careful when they're around. Gamma said Susie brings up one kitten at a time to the porch so they can eat solid food, and she (Susie) supervises them. They do also stay around the front yard and porch playing all the time. Gamma has been luring them with catnip which they LOVE and also putting catnip by her front door to entice them to come in. Is there anything else she can use to make the idea of coming inside more exciting?
Mama told Gamma to be sure and wear gloves if she does "catch" one of the kittens, in the event they try to bite or scratch her. (We're not saying she will do that, but there is a possibility it could happen since Susie comes inside and then asks to go back out.) We are purraying that if it's God's will the kittens will want to come inside and discofur a whole other world filled with fun! Gamma has her guest bathroom, a nice huge area, waiting fur mama and babies should they choose to come in.
PLEASE PURRAY THAT THESE KITTENS DECIDE TO COME IN GAMMA'S HOUSE ON THEIR OWN! It'd save a lot of work!

Purrs & hope for Susie & her kits!
Lubbs,
Kally Kat ♥ ♥This is great news, and we are going to purr that Susie brings those kitties in the house! Is there any way your Gamma could leave a door open and put the food right inside the door so that Susie brings the kitties inside on her own? Gee Samoa I don't know, since it's Gamma's front door. Her ofur kitties would have to be shut in somewhere first. They do get shut in Gamma's room a lot when she has company so it is possible. We'll mention it to Gamma.
Mama (Lynda) said she's happy to call the vet and make the appt. (or appointments) fur Susie cuz she knows Gamma would probably put off doing so. Gamma could use purrs too since she has hives. Great news, we're purring like mad.
