Arrival Story:
Asher started coming around in June. At first he was really scared, but I soon learned that he was completely tame and had likely been abandoned by someone. He had to learn a few manners, such as we don't bite just because the person petting us is walking away. Likewise, we don't pounce on and attack their feet. Otherwise, he was the most affectionate cat I've ever seen and he quickly became part of the family.
Bio:
Ahser became fairly fast friends with Chutney. Chutney hissed at him for a short time but once they moved past that, they were inseparable. Asher helped Chutney be a little more brave and they spent their time napping and playing together. But Asher wanted to become a house cat, as I suspect he had been at some point prior to his arrival at my house. I started letting him come inside for visits and he got along pretty well with all of the inside cats. Poor Chutney would sit outside the screen and look in. Asher so badly wanted Chutney to come inside too, but with Chutney being feral, that didn't happen often. Asher became an inside cat the weekend of the air show at a near by air force reserve station. He was so terrified by the noise of the fighter jets, that I had to bring him inside. He's never made any effort to get back outside and is quite content to have finally achieved the life he'd been longing for.
