Arrival Story:
My daughter had a cat, Max that was very attached to her. My younger daughter wanted a cat of her own. When my girls were 10 & 18 we ventured out to cat Sydney her own kitten. My husbands last word were "don't come home with a long hair cat or an adult cat". He thought it would be an easier transition for Max to accept a kitten. We went to the Humane Society and asked to see the kittens. But, on the way to the kitten room was a very large long hair cat. He was so large and the cages were so small his whole body touch the sides to the cage. I asked to hold him and I never put him back. My daughter, Sydney was saying "Daddy is not going to like this". I decided to take my chances. We proceded to get a kitten, Alex, who was a feral which we didn't know at the time. Oliver was accepted right away by all of us. He is definately a one person cat, Loves me and is very jealous of my other 4 cats. Even Max who was here first is intimated by Oliver. Oliver rules the house. We have a chocolate lab 120 lbs, he won't have eye contact with Oliver. He won't pass Oliver in the hallway. I can not yell at the dog, Luke - Oliver will att him thinking he is hurting me. Oliver is very protective of me. I work in retail and work 6 days a week during the holidays. Oliver has to be put on prozac - he has seperation anixety and pees all over the house if I am away too much. He is definately the master of the house. He slleps in between my husband and I. I don't dare kick him off the bed. He sleeps in my arms. He is my baby.
