Four Year Gotcha Anniversary!

I cannot believe it has been four years already. Time sure flies! Mom and Dad remember a very shy little feral girl who slowly came around and into their hearts. What a wonderful memory!

Updating my diary

I was looking at my diary today and I realized the last entry was about me going to PetSmart to be viewed for adoption. Well as you all know by now, I never made it to PetSmart! he he My foster mommy and daddy fell in love with me and I became a member of their family. My name also changed from Samantha to Midge (my former nickname.) Lots of changes in this past year...all good ones!

Who would have guessed?!

I'm a love bug! I have decided I absolutely love being pet and given attention! Foster Mom decided to tempt me with treats a few weeks back to see if I would accept them from her hand. Boy did I accept them gladly!

It was all downhill (in a good way) from there. I decided to eat with the other kitties and I started to do the kitty weave, in and around her ankles, at meal time. Then I let her reach down and touch me gently. After that, I was all about being pet!

I love to sit by Foster Mom and hang out with her while she's on the catputer. She is so encouraged by my turn around. The next step is for me to take a trip to our local PetSmart to be seen by potential adopters! That will probably be in the next two weeks. Wish me luck!

Baby Steps

Dear Diary,

I am making a little progress according to my foster mom. Sometimes I climb onto the cat tree even when she and my foster dad are sitting on the couch. But when they are standing and walking, I run to hide under the bed. However, tonight when it was supper time for the other kitties, I did venture out into the dining area.

Foster mom leaves out some delicious dry food for BK and me at night, as we are too shy to eat with our siblings when she and foster dad are around during the morning and evening. I heard her say she is going to try to tempt me with some wet food tomorrow night and see if I will stay to eat.

I sense that foster mom very much wants to get close to me, but I won't allow it yet. I'm not sure I can't fully trust her or anyone quite yet.
