Today I celebrate my birthday! Hey, what's not to celebrate! I lived for 19 years and have been here at the Bridge for 27 years and there are those on earth who still remember me. And it's always a thrill to celebrate my birthday! If I was blessed to still reside on earth, I'd be 46 years old and famous. I'd definitely be in the Guinness Book and my picture would be all over the web, on TV and in magazines. Maybe I'd even be rich! MOL!
Of course, no one in my family ever knew the exact day I was born. My birthday may even have been sometime near the end of February. But it really doesn’t matter and I’m very happy to celebrate my birthday on March 2.
Here at the Bridge, though, age doesn't matter and I always feel young and ready to pawrty. There's a boisterous pawrty happening here at the Bridge today and I'm having a blast!
Headbonks and sandpaper kissies to those who remembered my birthday and graciously sent gifts to this ole gal:
The family of Wanda, Norman, Tess, Rupert, Marie, Maci for the heart
The family of Tony, Anna, Greystone for the leprechaun hat
The family of Steinam - In Memory, Winnie - In Memory, Charlie Bleau Eyes and Tia Sydibil for the blue ribbon
The family of MILO, Smokey Joe, Timmy, Ziggy and Sam (formerly Angel) for the leprechaun hat
The family of Nadia, Gump for the rainbow ribbon rosette
The family of Rex, Bugsy, Max, Simba, Sadie (In Loving Memory), Spice for the heart
The Tabbies O Trout Towne for the Angel Star
The family of Big Harry, Patches, Royce, Angel Abigail, Zack for the heart
The family of Simone, River, Lili, Samantha for the 4 leaf clover
Thank you all!
Pawrty on!
xoxoxo

Older human sister was talking about me the other day to my human mom and younger human sister. Older sister's memories of me are the same as theirs except for one thing. Older sister thought I came to the Bridge in July 1983. My mom and younger sister told older sister she's mistaken. Older sister wasn't around during my final years and didn't learn that I'd gone to the Bridge until afterwards. Mom and younger sister were both with me when I made my journey to the Bridge. They said I left for the Bridge in February 1984. It was very cold and the ground was hard and they couldn't bury me in the back yard even though they wanted to. I lived longer than my older sister thought and was a month short of 19 years old.
Older sister associates me in her memory with her youngest brother and her grandpa. I was very close to both of them. Both passed away in the month of July and my sister thinks that's why she thought I did too. My sis observed my crossing day on July 27 this year, the anniversary of her youngest brother's death, and will continue to do so in honor of his memory and the close bond he and I had.
Purrs,
Angel Callie

My friend EDGAR from Olde Furts wrote a beautiful poem for my Bridge Crossing Day. The poem makes my *big sis* cry each time she reads it but that's ok:
"A mighty huntress,
Fierce and brave,
To a young boy,
Her heart she gave.
Through the field they'd
Run with joy,
Mighty Callie
And her boy.
A day came when
They had to part
But that could not
Break her stout heart.
Callie knew someday
She'd see her boy again
Until that time, she'd just recall
How happy they had been.
And she was right the day did come,
And her heart was filled with joy!
The mighty huntress Callie
Was reunited with her boy!
Together forever and
Always they'll be,
The boy and the kitty cat
Mighty Callie."
The boy in the poem is my human sister's youngest brother and my human brother. It was 27 years ago today that my boy, who was only 21 years old, went to heaven. I followed him a year later. Big sis doesn't remember the exact day I joined my boy but it was in July 1983. She celebrates my crossing day on the same day as my boy's day because we were so close and it makes her happy to think of us together forever.
Thank you Edgar for your thoughtfulness and kindness in remembering me today with such a lovely and special poem!

Thank you Daisy (In Loving Memory) for the ice cream cone! Daisy is my family's very special pup friend. She knows I terrorized dogs when I was on earth (and still do a little bit here at the Bridge - hehehe!) and she still tolerates me and for some reason likes me anyway (although she does tend to say what she has to say and then turn tail and run! MOL!)
Thank you Hooch for the heart. Hooch is also a special friend of my family. My family purrs for him and I keep watch over him from the Bridge.
Thank you Zack, My Angel, Harry, Riley, Hannah & family (aka The Texas Wild Bunch), also dear and special friends of my family, for the Planet Earth.
And thank you angel Crystal for the lovely pawmail with the cute kitty picture and to my well wishers in Olde Furts and Rainbow Bridge Angel Babies!
Hugs,
Callie
