Arrival Story: I have had cats my whole life, and my boyfriend and I moved in together and I had to have a cat in my home (not complete without one, right?) So I got onto Craigslist and I found Edwin. His name was Simon then and he was about 6 months old when I got him.
I was on my way to meet him for the first time, and I knew I would be bringing him home. So I made a quick pit stop to Petco and got him all the accoutrements. He was living in a very small apartment and could only go onto the balcony and dream of frollicking about until I took him home, we live in the forest of Edmonds, WA. He is a very happy Kitty :)

When I was really young, my mother took me to the vetrinarian to get neutered. Everything went well, I was really drowsy on my way home, mom made sure everything was nice and clean and soft for me too.
Then, I started feeling really really sick, more than usual after my surgery and I didn't want to eat any food or drink any water and I started losing weight rapidly in a matter of 2 or 3 days.
My eyelids were closed all the time because I was too sick to focus, or open them, I did not feel good! Mom realized something else was wrong and took me back to the vet. They took my blood and sent it out to have it tested.
When my blood came back, they found out that I had Hemobartinella, which is a blood disease that can be hereditary or contracted from other cats. Since I had only had contact with humans, they figured out that it was in my blood line from my mom or dad but it stayed dormant due to my strong immune system, but when I had surgery my defenses were down and the bug took over my blood cells and multiplied.
I will never forget how mom nursed me back to health. She kept me by her side day and night and slept with me in her bed and force fed me food, water and medicine to keep me hydrated and a few days later I felt like myself again!
Thank you mom, I love you. I may only have 8 lives now, but you saved them for me :)
