Bio:
Fritz was purchased from a pet store in September of 1988, at the age of 8 weeks. He seemed to be the healthiest of his litter, but when he was around 6 months old, he began to act funny, facing the wall, not eating, not using his box, and his third eyelid popped out. A trip to the vet determined that soemthing very unusual happened to his small intestine. Somehow, it had become "kinked", as our vet described it, the way the fingers on a glove would look when turned inside out. He needed suregery costing well over $800 to repair it, and has done very well with a good chunk of the small intestines removed. Fritz remained healthy until the summer of 1999, when we had a new vet come to the house to examine Fritz and the Beagle mix we had at the time. He administered numerous vaccines and unnecessary medicines to both my animals, which I believe caused their health to decline from that day on. Fritz developed a UTI and a lump shortly after, and my dog passed away of cancer a few months later. That UTI went into a kidney infection, although after a change of diet the lump dissapearred, thankfully. The kidney infection never fully healed, and last year, he was diagnosed as having kidney disease. Fritz is now in kidney failure. He is a fighter, and so far is still enjoying his life, with good days outnumbering the bad. We are praying he still has many quality years ahead of him. ***December 13, 2004 my Fritz succmbed to his kidney disease and took a piece of my soul with him. "Goodnight, sweet Prince, and flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest."***
