Leave a treat for Dalton♥
Special Gift Box:
DT, Little gray guy
August 28th 2008
Playing, cuddling, nudging his new daddy's beard
Having to spend a few days in the laundry room and when his dish is empty
Shoe laces #1, cardboard box to chew on, all balls
Favorite Nap Spot:
In his dad's lap, or on dad's belly, and now our bed
Purina Pro kitten canned and dry
He's a little charmer, does that count?
One look into those eyes, and we were goners. We brought this little angel into our home, to be our 32nd inside cat!
He was rescued by a shelter we support, and he desperately needed a home with love. One thing we never run out of in this home, is LOVE. Thank you for welcoming this little guy to Catster!
Our little gray guy is a bouncing boy, full of kittenhood joy! He is very affectionate. After only a short quarantine period, he began to play and chase with the grown cats. He especially likes the youngest, Larke, and she is enjoying a playmate closer to her own size. Riley liked and licked him from day one! Pete had his usual hissy fit for a couple days, but quickly realized his own love was not in jeopardy, and made friends too. Sophie seemed to be looking out for him, in a motherly way. He is so tiny, running around! We haven't had a baby this little in a while.
We had some health concerns because his abdomen was very bloated, and stayed bloated. He was checked for parasites, and given medicine. When his tummy still stayed huge, we had a sonogram done, which revealed no masses, tumors, or fluid build-up. He does have one slightly underdeveloped kidney, which we will keep an eye on. This little guy only weighed 1.8 pounds, even after two days of feedings.
His eyes are a beautiful shade of green/blue, but may change as he ages.
UPDATE: Dalton's eyes became a lovely shade of light green. He remains a tiny boy, but he is still so full of energy. He loves to play, and will make a game out of anything...a plastic spoon, a bottle cap. No need for expensive toys with this little guy. At night he often climbs between us to "say goodnight", before choosing a permanent spot. We have really grown to love this babe more and more. Since we lost Zack, we have caught ourselves glancing at him, and thinking it was Zack, just for a fleeting moment. Those would be big paws to fill, but if any cat can do it, Dalton can! Thank you for reading his story.
P.S. There are lots of cute kitten pictures in his Photobook!

Did everyone have a nice Easter? I did, but this afternoon I was doing the "Bunny Hop". Mom said, "Dalton, what's wrong with your paw? I squeaked a little when she touched it, so she called the vet.
In the carrier I went. I was quiet as a mouse on the ride over.
When my vet checked me over, he found a tiny cut on my paw. He said it might be a bite, but there was only one place, so mom thinks it was a cut. Plus, my siblings don't normally bite, except for Pete, who likes to bite the back of our necks. He must have watched too many vampire movies when he was a kitten. Anyway, I am gonna be fine, I just have to take some antibiotic pills for ten days. The vet said I should be feeling lots better in about two to three days. I'm already feeling better to be home.
Also, while I was there, there was a lady with a beautiful Seal Point Siamese wrapped in a towel. His name was Cherokee, and he was going to the Bridge.
His mom let mom love on him while they waited. Cherokee was 18 1/2 years old. He was blind and deaf, but they said he still purred nonstop, and even with hardly any teeth, he ate the dogs food. Mom said cats are so remarkable. They adapt to whatever life throws their way.
I was hoping our friends will say a prayer for Cherokee and his family.
Uh oh, here comes dad with the "piller".
*looks for a place to hide*
*ssshh, don't tell him that I'm under the bed*

I'm sorry it is so late, almost 11pm, mom just got home from out of town, and looked at my page! It's BEAUTIFUL!!!
I had an amazing day, and I can't wait to write all about it, but if it's okay, I am going to do that tomorrow, and thank everyone tomorrow too.
Mom says she is super-duper-poopered tonight.
Just one last thanks to the Catster Team, for my honor, and lots of purrz to my friends, both old and new! I'm not sure I will be able to sleep tonight! BIG PURRZ!
