Arrival Story: In loving memory of Jimmy, Holly and Poppy Blossom, Seamus O'Kittenhead, Elijah, Pablo and Daisy.
There are three members of the Blossom family- Poppy, Holly and Jimmy. There are two other siblings in a seperate foster home. They were born in foster care, but the mumcat wasn't doing too well. The decision was made to seperate them as soon as the babies were weaned. It's not ideal, but will hopefully work out for the best.
Holly is the outgoing one. She loves people, and wants to be involved in anything you are doing. Jimmy is very shy, and will jump at shadows. Poppy lies somewhere in between. The Blossom's development was interesting. Jimmy was the smallest when they arrived. He was best friends with Poppy, and they loved to play. He underwent a growth spurt, to be the biggest of the litter. He became rougher, and Poppy began to avoid him. He also became much more confident with his sisters and people. Holly got right into it, and they rough housed a lot. Poppy was a bit of a reclusive, nervous kitten. I did a lot of work to help her out of her shell. Holly was a little adventurer. She was the one to dive for the door whenever it was opened, and was the first to get up on the window sill. A couple of times I got a bit of a fright to look up and see her gazing back down at me.
Seamus O'Kittenhead came to us after he was dumped at the shelter. He and his littermates had been found in some bushes, and the finder decided to try and sell them at the market. Seamus didn't sell, so she got rid of him.
He wanted to be friends with the Blossoms straight away. He was only about a third of their size, but he made up for that in guts. He got right into the wrestling, and refused to give up.
All three grew to befriend Seamus. Poppy took on the responsibility of keeping him well groomed, while Jimmy had fun teaching him about being a mancat in training. Holly had a great time smashing him around. The only one who enjoyed it more was Seamus himself, always back for more and making one more dive at Holly. He was a lovely little cuddlepuss, and thoroughly enjoyed being snuggled up for cuddles. He was also obsessed with his kitten milk, which he slurped up at the speed of sound!
The Blossoms were put to sleep with Seamus on 26 November. The four got very sick, and the shelter had no other option.
Dancer Claus came to us with her brother Dasher and sister Blitzen in early December. They were loads of fun! Dancer was the smallest, and full of beans. She just wanted to PLAY! PLAY! PLAY! Her favourite was the furry rat wand toy, which she loved to wrestle and bite and bunny kick for as long as she possibly could. She was such a clean freak, and kept her whiskers shiny at all times.
Dancer was killed by a snake while waiting to be adopted. Her brother Dash survived the attack with a broken leg, and went on to be adopted.

Bio: Stella was a mumcat surrendered when very pregnant. She was destined for euthanasia, but went into labour first. She gave birth to five kittens. They came home with me that night. Baby Elijah passed away that night. Of the other four, there were two who were very strong, Ellie and Angus, and two who were very weak, Pablo and Daisy. I worked hard with them, but they struggled. Stella was a very small mum under a lot of stress, and I think they struggled as a result. At four weeks, Pablo crashed. He was euthanised to prevent further suffering. After a lot of discussion, we made the decision to euthanise Daisy. She was weaker than Pablo had been, and the vet believed she was unlikely to survive even with massive intervention.
They will be forever loved.
