Arrival Story:
This is a terrible story.
Our landlord's wife died in May of 08 and Shadow and her brother Love Bug(LB) were thrown out of the house by contractors.
She found her way to our houseboat and began her life outside.
She had an igloo and plenty of food from us.
She was adapting to outside life quite well until i noticed she was pregnant. Before i could get her, she took off for 3 days in mid August and returned no longer pregnant. We had no idea where she had the babies but watched her as she made her way from our boat down the dock to the "South Yard". She did this about 5 times a day for 5 weeks until she began to look ill. This time we followed her and found her 6 beautiful babies in a shed. On 9.25.08 we rescued Shadow and all the babies.
However, the next day i took Shadow to my vet and she was very ill. Her uterus was infected so she was given antibiotics immediately, making it impossible to nurse her babies any longer. i felt bad for her but after her emergency spay surgery she has bounced back and has fit in perfectly with the rest of the family.
Bio:
i have had a hard life...
One minute i was living inside with my first mommy, who was very ill. Then my first Mommy died and no one wanted me so i was put outside to fend for myself.
Quickly i found my new mom and dad who took very good care of me.
Then i got pregnant and had 6 babies. i had a bd infection so mom and dad brought me inside and all my babies with me.
As i am writing this (10.25.08) my babies are sleeping safely in a kitten playpen and i am snoozing in a Morgan bed.
i am very appreciative for all mom and dad have done for me.
i miss my first Mommy but i know i will see her again someday.
Oh, mom and dad asked what my name was, but no one knew so they named me Shadow.
i am very happy to be here.
