Nicknames: Shy One --- [ We miss you so much on your second anniversary in 2010 ]. Updated Dec. 20, 2011 .
Arrival Story: About three weeks ago we noticed a young feral cat in our neighborhood scavenging in a neighbors garbage can. We started putting out food and water and she ate like she was starving every time. My wife named her Roseabella or Bella for short.
About a week ago, we were eating out on the deck and she came up and watched us. We fed her bits of steak and eventually she came over several times to allow us a quick pet but would quickly dart away.
Our plans were to get her to come inside and live in the family room in the basement until we could get her to see our vet.
There are several other dominant ferals in our neighborhood and they were brutal with her so we wanted to get her inside ASAP.
I last saw her three days ago by the backyard shed. We tried to call her in but she was chased away by one of the other ferals. The nights since have been down in the twentys and we were very worried.
This morning [ October 25, 2008 - Saturday ], we heard some rustling in the very large bushes by our neighbors front porch. There are alot of skunks around so we were reluctant to go into the bushes.
At about 10:30 AM our next door neighbor came to our home and asked if one of our cats was missing since they had just found a dead kitty under their front porches bushes. I went over with a sense of dread and looked in the bag. It was Bella, dead and stretched out on her side.
It was pouring rain all day so we'll bury her tomorrow morning beyond the garden shed. :-(
Update : Both Suzanne and I buried Bella under the dogwoods in our backyard this morning just before 11 AM. She is happy and healthy in heaven and knows that we had the best of intentions for her.
Last 2 of her 4 photos added 3 Nov 2008.
Bella's in Heaven.: Bella is now happy and healthy in heaven and happily knows we'll be reunited some day.
