The first hunt!March 12th 2009 10:35 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
ok so there are these rabbits that have been hanging around the back yard that I LOVE to stalk, the female who we call Rover chases me back. they had baby rabbits in our back yard before, 2 survived and are now big enough to fend for themselves, and we don't know if there are any others from that last litter. Mommy Knew Rover had babies again because she was all nice and fat and slow and then a couple weeks ago she got really skinny and flabby at her belly. Anyways Mommy comes home today to find out that I had gotten a baby rabbit out of thier den and mommy is hoping the baby rabbit will be ok... I was just doing what kitties do so i didn't get in trouble... mommy is just sad i hurt a lil bunny... Grandpa dug out the rest of the baby rabbits and now all 5 babies are safe in a bunny cage untill they find homes or get big enough to fend off cats. Darn though granpa had to go and ruin my first hunting experience MOL!

Catster is such a fun loving place, with lots of loving families with kitties that just mean the world to them. We All make lots of furriends and learn to love them as well even if we talk alot or just a little, and I'm sure because of how dangerous life itself is all of us have lost a furriend or more here on catster. Tradgically so my Furriend Shasta, a very very sweet kitty, who lived and loved dogs was attacked by thier neighbors chow that got out and has passed to the rainbow bridge. His mommy is being really strong and has wrote a diary entry to let all of his furriends know of the incedent but I would appreciate it for those of you who love to leave rosettes treats and gifts to view his page and show his family some support. http://www.catster.com/cats/886079

The vet monitored me and decided I wasn't going to get any worse and that i would continue to recover from my stomach infection just fine,. He had explained to mommy how sometimes just like people animals will get worse before better with the signs and symptoms to an illness. However serious my infection is he says I'm expected to make a complete recovery and had mommy come pick me up and take me home. I sure missed being at home, the nurses at the vets had told mommy how i was crying for her all day, when I saw her I still continued to cry because i wanted so badly out of "the cage" I was in and to just be in her arms. we got home, and I ate some food and drank some water and then it was mommy and me time, boy she was so happy to hear me purring and snuggling again, I am so very thankful to have someone that loves me soooo much like mommy does. Anywho I am still in quite a bit of pain but i am showing signs of getting better, instead of elbow crawling I am now able to walk straight on all fours but I'm very careful and sluggish with my movements. Oliver and princess have been put on antibiotics also since last night oliver showed signs of getting sick so mommy is taking no chances we all are being treated now.
Gimpy is sick.January 30th 2009 1:50 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
This is Gimpy's mommy writing this entry for him since he's in the vets office being monitored. I woke up this morning around 5 am, I have a baby changer right next to the bed (7 months pregnant) and the kittens like to sleep on top of it next to the window. Gimpy woke up with me and I notticed when he shifted positions he looked a little stiff in his paws and so i watched him a little bit, he sat up again and flopped down as if he fell, I scooped him up gently and he gave me a meow of discomfort and i laid down kinda in a slightly propped up sitting position so if i needed to get up for any reason he wouldn't be bothered too much. Now normally when he lays on me it's loud motorboat purring and head bonking, nose rubbing, kneading and face smushes in my hair, but this time no purring he just laid there with his face snuggled under my neck enjoying my warmth and comfort. After about a half and hour went by I was seriously worried i waited untill 6:30 am to give him the antibiotics because I was instructed by the vet to wait untill about that time. After I gave him the antibiotic I brought him in the livingroom with me and made him comfy on our couch, after a little while i heard him trying to get up and I got even more concerned that he wasn't able to stand up, he did this military elbow belly crawl and I didn't want him jumping off the couch and experiencing further pain and so I took him to his litterbox where he crawled in, delicately dug and urinated, he looked at me so misearable I scooped him out before he even tried burying it and i put him in front of his food dish (usual routine after or before a litter box trip) he decided to elbow crawl his way back towards the livingroom and plopped himself down in the hall where he then vomited, shortly after that he moved himself into the livingroom out of the walk way where he wouldn't be stepped on. I being a concerned mommy didn't want him struggling while sick going back and forth ion the rooms for hydration got him a cup of water and set it infront of him(leaning distance) just after i put a drop on his lips to let him know it was water in the cup, he didn't drink at first but I observed him take a few licks shortly after. my son is only 3 years old and very hyper he woke up and decided to run back and forth play with his loud toy etc.... so while I was taking a shower awaiting my ride to show up my poor gimpy tired of the ruccus crawled his way over to the couch and into a box to try to get some alone time. I let his stay there untill my mother arrived and I brought him back to the vet, he is currently there being monitored, I am so very worried for my little gimpy boy, he is the most sweetest kitty I have ever known and I couldn't bare to lose him. Please kitties pray for him.
Just in time (vet emergency)January 29th 2009 1:20 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
This morning was a hard morning for my family and I, Mommy and daddy had an arguement that lasted untill 3 am and we all got up before 10 am this morning. Mommy is 7 months pregnant and having a hard time continueing working and so her job is giving her about 1 day a week or less to work and daddy was laid off due the recession so we all are struggling a little bit. Mommy suspected that I wasn't feeling good the other day and thought she would ask the vet to look at me before I get fixed which would have been tomarrow but this morning I felt super icky sick and my human brother wanted to play with me and to my own and mommies surprised I hissed and growled at him(this is something that I just don't normally do). I then wanted to stay under the bed and daddy had to go and pull me out and I meowed uncomfortably, he put me on the pet and mommy was looking at my eyes and petting me and I contined to meow and mommy just couldn't stand me being in pain like that and not know what it was or what to do for me. I climbed off the bed and went under it while mommy got on the phone with a vet, the next thing I know daddy is pulling me out from under the bed and handing me to mommy. mommy put a blanky in the cat carrier for me and then she guided me inside as gently as she could. I've been in a car before so I wasn't to scared but I still didn't feel all that great. When we got to the vet Mommy seemed happy to see him and said he was a nice man but I sure didn't like him, first he shoves something (I think they said it was a thermometer) in my back end, and then he said I was lucky mommy brought me in, I had a fever of 106.9. I'm cuddling up next to
Sunny D 2January 18th 2009 4:25 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
so Sunny spent the night last night and things went great! He and I are buds mommy even took us outside to play today, mommy let Sunny stay outside thinking maybe he would go home buuuut he's been in our backyard all day, mommy and daddy walked around the neighborhood asking people is they were missing a cat and it seems no one is.... which is very odd by how clean this kitty is and how friendly his temperment. mommy suspects that the humane society may have ran out of room in thier shelters that people are just dumping strays or even just cats that they find with no collars in our neighborhood, in the past 3 months there have been 12 new cats "adult cats" that have showed up with no owners. It looks like I may have another brother coming into the family.
sunny dJanuary 17th 2009 8:39 pm[ Leave A Comment ]
Sunny D that's what mommy and daddy are calling him, showed up in my backyard today, mommy has been noticing there are ALOT more cats in the nieghborhood and suspects that someone is dumping them here. Anyways this one doesn't look like a stray or behave like one either so since "sunny d" has been hanging out in my backyard and then after mommy went inside he stayed the rest of the day right at the glass door just sitting there patiently to be let in. Soooooo Mommy decided to let him in and see how he reacts to us kittens and we noticed he's not much out of being a kitten himself, we believe him to be 9 months to a year old. I loved him, we touched noses "no hissing" then when he met Oliver and Princess They both fluffed up to look bigger but Sunny he just kept his cool and sniffed them then went on his way so mommy and daddy decided tonight it's ok for him to be inside since we do have a few really large ferral males picking fights that could hurt him since he's still not all that big, and we also have owls that mommy lost an orange cat too a few years back, so with that and Sunny being such a sweetie mommy wants to keep him safe from harm since she suspects he is someone's indoor kitty that escaped, and tomarrow we quest to find his owners and if that fails well who knows maybe I'll have a cool new brother.
My first VaccinationDecember 26th 2008 9:06 pm[ Leave A Comment ] Because the vet charges wayyy too much and there's 4 of us that needed to be given our vaccinations mommy had to go through a vet supply store to obtain them. Unfortunately she had to give us the shots herself, The gentleman at the register told her exactly how to do it but daddy wasn't holding me so secure so when I moved the needle came out the other end of my skin and I didn't get my full vaccination. It sounds worse than it felt, I figeted but I didn't complain about it but mommy still feels really bad that she may have to re-do the shot on me when I already have to go through it again next week. I also had to take this really nasty pink stuff called deworming solution today, thank god mommy opened a can of shadows "good kitty food" (canned food) so we could get that bad tast out of our mouths. Mommy said we might feel a little off the next couple of days so it's a good thing that my 3 year old boy is off at his dads house not to torment us kitties but I do miss him when he's gone, I let him know this by when he comes back instead of sleeping with mommy I will sleep next to him.
