A warm lap. Crinkle-foil balls, sparkle balls, lying on meowmie's lap at night with Izzie..
Jessie, my dog who chases her and tries to catch her. Having her feet off the ground.
Foil crinkle balls, sparkle balls, Izzie.
Favorite Nap Spot:
Upstairs in the baby's crib (no baby in there!), or high up on boxes and such.
Fancy Feast Medleys, Catsip
Making everyone fall immediately in love with her!
There was a definite hole in my life when my sweet boy, Ernie was hit by a car and killed in August. And, as a former animal welfare/rescue volunteer, I am aware of the thousands upon thousands of cats who need homes. I'd heard of the "Torbie" color and asked my friends on Catster what they thought. I heard back that it's basically a good kitty with beautiful coloring. I found Lily at a (sort of) local rescue about 45 minutes from my home. This is a dog rescue, but when the Executive Director, whose name is Rose, heard about Lily and her brother's plight, she had to take the owner surrender. Lily and her brother are children of divorce and got left in the home with the man when ther meowmie couldn't bring them along to her new apartment. The man (I refuse to call him their "dad") took his rage out on his ex-wife by abusing the animals, throwing them against the wall and kicking them. But, contrary to her earlier life, Lily is a loving, frantically headbonking little kitty. She is already headbonking our dog/cat Springer, Cady. I can't believe she is as loving and gentle as she is. What a resilient kitty!
The first time I saw Lily Rose, the lady put her in my arms and she immediately began rubbing on and headbonking me. She is also a lapcat who likes to make dozens of biscuits before she lays down. Lily is a cat version of me. She can't believe anyone wouldn't like her. She wins them over with love and more love...
Lily, who was an indoor/outdoor kitty when I adopted her, went outside on Wednesday, June 2, 2010. We never saw her again. A deceased cat was found in our neighbor's drive that the neighbor said "looked just like Lily" from the missing posters I put up. We are assuming that it was Lily.We wish we could have buried her in our back yard, but we will put up a plaque to honor her memory and let others know how much we loved her. Have fun with Ernie, Sweet Girl! He'll teach you lots about catching mice!

I know I haven't added to my diary in a very long time, and I'm sorry about that.
Delilah, Izzie, the dogs and I are enjoying our summer in Cleveland. The only problem is that I really want to get OUT. I have pushed out the frames on the screens, and when I can't bend them, I just claw a big hole in the screen. Of course, because of what happened to Ernie, Meowmie doesn't want me to go out. I even caught her a little critter the last time I was out, but she still tries to keep me in. When Dad made her let me out yesterday, I even lay down under the chair to show her I can take care of myself. Dad says he is not paying another $371.00 to have the screens fixed again. I heard a rumor that we might be moving, and Dad says we have to fix the house up so it will sell. Gosh, that's no fun!
Meowmie was gone for a little while last month. She wasn't feeling good and some men had to come and put her in a big red truck and then they left. She came back the next day, but she still wasn't feeling good. I heard her tell Dad it was something called a "gall bladder attack". Gee, do kitties have gall bladders? She had to go away for two days the next week and when she came back, only I was allowed on her lap. She told me it's because I don't weight that much so I wouldn't hurt her. Ha! Lucky me! Na-na-na-boo-boo, Izzie!
My doggie sisfur Mollie also isn't feeling well. Mom told me she has "megaesophagus" which means that her esophagus isn't working so well to move the food into her stomach and she "regurgitates" a lot. I don't really understand all those big words, but Meowmie says we have to take very good care of Mollie. I lay down by her just now and told her I love her a lot. Mom took a picture but can't get it off the Easy Share camera. Gr-r-r-r!
We all hope everyone who is kind enough to read this diary entry is doing well--whether they have two feet or four. Take care and have a safe summer!

Izzie is busy getting his beauty sleep on the little condo in theden and I really don't feel like picking a fight with him to get him off of there, so I decided to add to my diary.
This is a pretty nice place to live. We get yummy wet food twice a day as a treat. Izzie says I can thank him for that. Mom tried the cheap stuff and Izzie sniffed it and walked away. After a while, mom got tired of throwing out full cans of wet food so she went back to buying the dollar a can stuff. Alright!!
Izzie and I spend a lot of time play wrestling and fighting. Sometimes he lets me win. We chase each other around a lot. Mommy got a big green fake plant that she put by the steps. It's where that big green tree thing was in December. Well, I tried to climb up in it and wound up on the floor pretty quick! Mommy just picked it up and put it back, so I tried it again. I can't believe Mommy said I was too heavy for it! Me!! All 6 pounds of me!
Me and my six pounds did knock out the clip on the screen in the kitchen window a few weeks ago, though. I said, "Yeah, Izzie, we're FREE!" and off we went. Mom and Dad were in the garage cleaning and when they came in, Dad noticed we were nowhere around. He's pretty good at noticing that stuff although he CLAIMS he doesn't like felines. Mom got really scared and then she saw the screen was pushed out. She ran outside and called us REAL LOUD!! Izzie and I were hunting in the bushes and having a good time, but Izzie said we had to go back to Mom. So we came running around the house right to her on the patio. We tried to look real cute and apologetic. Mommy picked us both up and put us in the house after she hugged us and kissed us up pretty good. Izzie said that yes, it was fun, but he really doesn't like to scare our mom like that. He said she still gets very sad when she thinks about Ernie getting hit by a car last summer. Well, he still miss him too. But cats gotta do what cats gotta do. I still try to get out but Izzie stays mostly back from the door.
At night, I lay on top of Mommy's chair and Izzie lays on her lap. It's a nice arrangement. I also sit on Mommy's side table and watch the birds at the feeder.
Hope you are all staying warm and safe, my kitty furrenz. Only a week until Spring is officially here!

I've been tagged by my beautiful friend Libby! And now, I'm tagging YOU! Please write seven things about yourself and tag seven of your friends, too! It's fun!
Seven things about myself:
1. I am a Torbie kitty. Just what Meowmie wanted!
2. I was abused by being kicked and thrown by my mean first daddy.
3. When I was rescued, I lived in a basement in a house where there were 45 rescued dogs in the kennel.
4. I love my new home with lots of foil crinkle balls, "Da Bird" and a nice soft corner of the loveseat for me to lie on all day.
5. I am the only non-fussy eater of cat food that Meowmie has ever known. I will eat just about any kind of cat food!
6. I have a brufur Izzie who lets me tackle and pin him to the floor even though he outweighs me by 8 pounds.
7. I LOVE CATSTER!!
