July 1st 1997

Doing whatever my mom is doing at the same time she's doing it.

When my older sisters, Scarlett and Vashti, don't feel like playing. :-(

Favorite Toy:
It used to be this stuffed worm with a bell on its tail, but after a decade of service it's been retired! Now I just LOVE catnip balls.

Favorite Nap Spot:
Meowmie's lap. ;-)

Favorite Food:
Turkey!!!! Tuna is a close second. YUM!

Crime fighting, pest control, hearing things nobody (not even other cats) can hear, smelling things (not even other cats) can smell, and inspiring the world with my bravery and optimism.

Arrival Story:
Thirteen years ago I was an abandoned kitten, and had lost my vision at two weeks old. I was considered "unadoptable" even though the vet who treated me and saved my life asked everyone she could think of. Finally, she found someone who would become my mom. She came to the vet's office to meet me, and it was love at first sight (first sniff for me!) I'm now a healthy, happy, loving, and utterly extraordinary feline friend, (according to my mom, that is) and the star of a New York Times Bestseller "Homer's Odyssey: A Fearless Feline Tale, or How I Learned About Love and Life With a Blind Wonder Cat."

"Homer once saved my life by chasing off a middle-of-the-night intruder (true story), survived 9/11 trapped in an apartment only blocks from Ground Zero, catches flies in mid-air, plays like crazy with his big sisters Scarlett and Vashti, and has completely changed my life--and the life of everyone who's ever known him!" --Gwen Cooper, my mom :)

Hi Furiends!

Scarlett is recovery well. Meowmy is keeping us separated until she's closer to 100%. I heard she has to wear a silly cone to keep her from messing with her stitches. There's some pictures on my mom's blog:

On another note, there are many kitties in the Bronx right now that are need of serious help. A human who rescues them is being forced to relocate and the cats need homes or temporary places in order to avoid being put to sleep.

If you can't find it from the link about search Jennie Gibbs, URGENT - Cat shelter has 20 days to find homes or cats will be put down.

Or try the link for this event:

I hope some of you can help.

Scarlett Update

Hi Everyone!

Thanks so much for all of your purayers! The good news is Scarlett is home in (almost) one piece. The bad news is that the tumor was larger and deeper than the vet originally thought, and they were unable to remove it all. Meowmy has much more information on her blog. For now let's just wish my sisfur a speedy recovery.

Purrayers For Scarlett

Hi Everyone,

Meowmy had to drop Scarlett off for surgery today. This was a scheduled surgery, so no scary surprises. She's having a tumor removed on her hind leg, so send her all of your positive energy and purrayers. I'll be sure to keep you all posted about her recovery.
