Arrival Story:
One summer day I came home from work to be approached by a seemingly stray kitty. While I sat on my steps petting her, the neighbors across the street told me how she tried to get into their basement the day before. They thought she was a stray. I had dogs while growing up, but never cats. And I had never had a pet as an adult. But I never gave adopting Princess a second thought. I only wanted to be sure she wasn't someone's cat. So, I set out some milk for her and told myself if she was still around in the morning I would adopt her. Only later would I learn that Princess doesn't like milk. The following morning I awoke to find her on my front steps. I fed her some tuna fish and went to Wal-Mart to buy a litter box, etc. I was a little concerned when I returned from Wal-Mart and she wasn't to be found. Luckily, she appeared a minute later. She started walking up the stairs of the neighbor's house. I called to her, "Do you mean to be climbing my stairs?" She saw me and ran over. When I got her she was 7.5 lbs, with a broken tooth and a limp. She’s now a plump 11 lbs. As much as she would like to go outside, she’s kept inside where she will be safe. The name Princess just came to me.
