Celebrating the Big 2-0!

I was born sometime during the summer of 1992 because Momma and Paw Paw adopted me as a kitten in Septemeber of that year. Since Momma didn't know for sure what my actual birthdate was, she chose one for me, June 10th. Daddy's birthday is in April and Momma's is in May so she told me that I got to have June.

My story all started the day that Momma and PawPaw came into the pet store where my sibblings and I were living until someone adopted us. Momma stood at the window to the "Kitten Room" peering in at us. She must have liked what she saw because she had a big smile on her face. My siblings and I all looked alike so I guess it was just the luck of the draw or karma or something that caused Momma to scoop me up into her arms and never put me back down. I heard her telling PawPaw, "This is exactly what I want." PawPaw tried to talk Momma out of adopting me, telling her that it wasn't a good time to adopt a kitten because they were going on a trip from Florida to New York very soon. That didn't seem to matter to Momma. "We'll just take her with us!" Momma proclaimed. And so they did. On the way home that day, Momma held me in her arms and told me, "I know you are scared right now, Little One, but you are going to have a very good life." And so I have.
In a few days I will be celebrating my 20th Birthday. I am a lot thinner than I used to be because I have a disease called Hyperthyroidism. Momma and Daddy put medicine in my ear twice a day to help me combat the effects of the disease and I have to admit that I do feel much calmer now that I submit to having this done to me 2 times a day. I also had two troublesome teeth removed last Friday so now I'm also being given some anitbiotic liquid twice a day plus some Buprenex for pain.
Momma just finishied reading a wonderful book called "Dewey" about a beloved Library cat in Iowa. At the end of the book, Dewey was 19 years old and suffering from cancer so he had to go to the Rainbow Bridge. Momma wept for Dewey and the lady who loved him with all of ther heart, while she stroked me as I lay next to her in bed.
I know some day my time will come to go to the Bridge too but for now, I know that my Momma and PawPaw are doing every thing in their power to keep me comfortable and that includes giving me lots of love. Momma has certainly kept her promise to me, the one she made 20 years ago. I have lived a very good life, indeed.

MEE-OW-ZER! We have been so thrilled and humbled by all of the special honors that our Christmastime diary entry has received. Our family came together to express our gratitude to our furrends and to Catster for being such a pawsome part of our lives, and to express our appreciation for all of the love and adoration we receive from our pawrents as well.

We cannot thank you enough dear Catster for featuring our diary entry on four different days! Tattiana received a Daily Diary Pick feature on 12/24. Charm received a DIARY of the DAY on 12/25. Bubby received a Daily Diary Pick on 12/26. And now, Tatti has received a DIARY of the DAY on 12/28!

We are all doing the Happy Cat Dance here and feline so special.

We also want to thank the many furrends who helped us celebrate with paw mails, rosettes, stars, and gifties. The family of Manytoes and Tundra even made special tribute pictures for Charm and Tatti to display on their Catster pages.

We are overwhelmed by all of the special attention and love that our family has been given this Christmas season and throughout the year!

Our Christmas Purrs

We have come together as a family to express our felines in this diary entry. Momma is always telling us that we are gifts from Heaven to her and Paw Paw because we bring so much joy, laughter, and love into their hearts. She tells us we are the best Christmas purresents in the world and she gets to unwrap and enjoy the gifts of "us" every single day of the year. Christmas time is special to all of us because it is the day that we celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus, who was God's great gift to mankind (and catkind too) but we also know that we can enjoy that blessed Christmas spirit every single day because we are here together as a family. That is a very special gift, indeed.

We want to send a special and loving thank you to all of our Catster furrends for coming into our lives and warming our hearts with your photos, comments, and rosette prezzies throughout the year.

We are honored and thrilled to have received a whole big box of goodies from our dear Auntie Barbi and her darling family. Aria and Bitta were given lovely holiday dresses from their beloved boy-furrends, Jaspurr and Snowmitts. Bubby received a pawsome striped polo shirt from his beloved Kashmere, who is now watching over him from Heaven. The whole family is enjoying a bag of Friskies Party Mix Milled Grill Crunch treats, a tin of White Meat Chicken Fancy Feast Appetizers, candy canes, darling Christmas sox, a gorgeous Swarovski Elements Angel ornament, wonderful sparkly toy balls, and an adorable Christmas card!

We are so blessed to be loved and adored by our parents and to belong to a wonderful and caring cat community like Catster.

19 Wonderful Years of Health and Happiness

Meow! Can you believe it? I am celebrating my 19th Birthday today! I am still going strong too. There are only two things going on with me that would indicate that I am a senior citizen. My legs aren't quite as limber and spry as they once were and I had to have most of my teeth removed about two years ago. Other than that, I am as good as new, loving life and all of the special honors that come with being the kitty family matriarch.

Momma saw me in a pet store 19 years ago. My siblings and I had only just arrived there and had our shots. Momma had been wanting a new kitten and particularly one that looked just like me! All of the kittens in my litter looked just like me, so I guess it was just my lucky day when Momma picked me up and held me next to her. She never put me back down again. Instead, she told me that she and Paw Paw were going to take me home and that I didn't need to be afraid because I was going to have a wonderful life. Well, Momma must have looked into a crystal ball that day because that is exactly what happened. I have never had any health issues and I have always been given lots of love, a healthy diet, and never allowed to go outside. Momma also gives us steamed distilled water to drink so that our kidneys do not have to filter out any extra toxins that might be present in the tap water.

I am going to enjoy my day today by demanding some extra lap time from both Momma and Paw Paw as well as few extra freeze dried chicken treat... Yum! My FAVE!

Hopefully, I will be back here next year to tell you that I am celebrating my 20th birthday. Now won't that just be purrfectly pawsome?

TATTIANA, You are my baby, my TATTI tah tah, who I can still hold in my arms and feel our mutual affection for one another flowing through our bodies. You are truly beautiful inside and out - a pure spirit, a gift of love.

CHARM, You are my CHARM-ing treasure of love and affection. You are my dear little darling, treasured and loved more than you will ever know!

KATIE, Your purrensence in my life has always made everything Oh-KATIE with the world. We have shared our lives with you for many years and our love for you overflows our heart's capacity!

February is Dental Health Month

I am one of those kitties who never causes my Meowmy and PawPaw any trouble in any way. I will be celebrating my 18th Birthday this year and I have been so healthy I can count the times I have been to the Vet on one paw. I have never been sick and I always have a great appetite and lots of energy. I have been blessed and Meowy says I am a blessing to her and PawPaw.

Well, the other day, I was sitting on Momma's computer desk and she noticed that I was making a funny noise with my mouth. She tried to look inside of it but Meow! That hurt! I let her know real quick like but crying out and hissing. That is when Momma realized that I had to go to the Vet.

The news wasn't good. I had some broken teeth and some infected gums. I had to have some blood work done so that I could go back today to have a lot of my teeth pulled. Momma feels bad that she didn't take me to the Vet more often. Just because I was healthy, didn't mean I shouldn't have had some check-ups more often.

Since this month is Dental Health month fur us kitties, Momma and I would like to remind all or our Catster pals to pawlease have their teeth and gums checked by a purrfessional on a regular basis.

I'm going to be okay. I eat mostly wet food so I'm still going to enjoy my meals but maybe someone else can learn from my experience. I'll be taking a little Buprenex tonight and hopefully I'll be feeling more like my old (get it? OLD self) tomorrow.

Snuggling weather

I love to be warm and one of my favorite things to do is to find the sunny spots in our home for some quality nap time. In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, I always find the best bright and sunny places near the windows so I can curl up and snooze... ahhhh! Total bliss!

At night time there aren't any sunny spots to find so I really like to lay in front of the big warm fireplace. After the fire goes night, night, I wait for Momma to go to bed and then I hop on top of her. She is really warm and cuddly but I sure do wish she would lay still! It is really hard to get my beauty rest with her constantly moving around!
