Irritating the dog next door from the balcony, trying to catch the fish in the tank, pretending her brother Aslan doesn't exist
That she has to share her humans with her adopted elder sister and younger brother.
Q-Tips, an orange stuffed mouse named Mousie
Favorite Nap Spot:
Dad's router, center of mom & dad's bed
Chocolate (but mom & dad won't let her have any 'cause its not good for kitties)
She is the only cat I've ever seen that LIKES water.
About 6 months after we got our first Devon kitten, I was looking at the Breed Rescue site (big mistake!) I saw a momcat and kitten that had been rescued and needed a home. My next door neighbor and I went in together; she took the momcat, and we took the kitten (miw) She was about 4 months when we got her. Apparently the breeder took off and abandoned the momcat and two kittens with a neighbor. The neighbor called the DRBR and they came and got two of them (the neighbor wanted to keep the little boy).
Miw's name is not after the sound she makes, since like most devons, she mostly trills. At the time she came to adopt us, we were studying about ancient egypt, and had learned that the ancient egyptians called all cats "Miw" since while they were sure the cat had a name, being that they could not speak cat, they didn't know what it was. My son also thought it cool since there is a pokemon cat named Miw.
Miw is just about at the opposite end of the personality spectrum from her adoptive sister Claudia. Where Claudia is sweet, demure, and graceful, Miw is forceful, in-your-face, and a bit of a klutz. Both cats are indoor cats with access to our third floor balcony where they can take in the fresh sea breezes on nice days.
Miw likes to watch "Kitty TV" (aka the aquarium), and she is certain that one of these days she is going to catch that big silver fish. (Actually it isn't very likely since it is a hooded, covered 50 gallon tank on its own cabinet.)
We figure that Miw will most likely use up all her lives, and most of her sister Claudia's since Claudia is so timid and Miw so bold.
Gray cats rule!

On May 19th, 2007, Miw went to the Rainbow Bridge. She started having a lot of trouble breathing, and my husband and son rushed her to the vet. Dr. Laurie could tell there was a lot of fluid in her lungs, but before they could even get an image of it, she crossed over. Miw would have been five years old in July. She will be loved and missed forever.

Today I would have celebrated my 5th birthday. We were never really sure of my birthday, just knew that it was in July, so Blue & Mom picked the 20th to celebrate. So, invisihugs to Mom, who is sad today.

*sigh* I can't believe it. That stupid little brother of mine, Aslan http://www.catster.com/cats/137128 had a wonderful chance to totally be a curious cat yesterday and he didn't even TRY! Where has all my teaching gone? Hours of instruction, down the drain. Here's what happened:
Meowmie left the door to her painting studio open yesterday, and Aslan, being a good cat (for a change) wandered in. Things looked pretty good for him at the start - he tried to get into the closet where meowmie keeps her cool stuff, then proceeded to jump up on the desks. But, then he stopped there! *Oiy!* He hopped off the desk and started his big-eyed thing at meowmie to try and get her to pick him up. *sigh* He didn't even TRY to get up on her painting board. Didn't even sniff over to where her pretty wet watercolor pigments where sitting, ripe to be stepped in. Didn't even LOOK at the water, let alone try to drink it. And, when meowmie put one of the soft baskets on the chair next to hers, he just hopped right in. *slaps paw on forehead* Jeesh, kid. Don't you remember anything I taught you?
Ok, I can give him a bit of credit for eating the leaves off the flowers yesterday, but he didn't even try to knock over the vase. Where is that boy's brain? If I had been there, that vase would have been history on Saturday; and the pigments would be pawprinted all over the room and carpet. I never, EVER took the basket bribe, EVER! Stupid boy.
On the other hand, he got to stay with Meowmie until he was ready to leave, but at what cost? He has lost all his cat-ed-ness. *shakes head and licks paw.* I don't think I'll ever be able to understand that cat. The orange must have eaten his brain is all I can say.

My meowmie is still pretty sad - they can't figure out what happened to me. I was fine the night before, and fine enough last Saturday to have my yummy early morning kibble (Veterinary Diet Venison & Peas), but then wham! I couldn't breathe and then found myself here.
Dr. Laurie is even more confused, but when the path-o-loggist report came back saying I had severe bacterial new-monya, she rejected it and asked the lab to have it re-done (Why they had a dog do it in the first place is beyond me, but you never know about humans). Anyway, Dr. Laurie says that no way could that be true because first off, I had a fresh full belly of kibble and we all know that sick cats don't eat. And when Dr. Laurie called the path-o-loggist to find out how he came to that conclusion, he didn't really have an answer that made any sense. (Also, she said that in all her years of practice she has never seen *any* cat die strictly of new-monya.
So Dr. Laurie is still trying to figure out what happened, and meomie is still sad. And I try to sit on her arm like I used to, but she can't see or feel me anymore. Her friend Sissy told her that I was now her angel kitty on her shoulder, and would be with meowmie always. I think that made meowmie feel a little better.
My baby brofur Aslan is not doing as well though - he keeps looking all over for me - even in the sink! Meowmie keeps telling him I'm not there anymore to play with him, but well, he's always been kind of dumb. A real red looker, for sure, but dumb. He was my boy-toy. And now, he doesn't have anycat to play with because Claudia is recovering from some kind of liver problem (not cat food related).
But, I did see meowmie checking out Devon kitty colors, and telling Daddy that she didn't want a cat that was gray like me, because there never will be another Miw. But, she doesn't want to do anything until she knows what happened to me, and Claudia gets better. Not to mention just giving it some more time.
Anyway, my kitty mommie (Curiosity), who's been here at the Bridge for a while, has come to play with me, so I need to run. Oooh - look at the pretty butterflies! Bye!
