Squeakin' along

King of the House

There is a new cat around here, a wee little kitten. Our neighbors found him on their doorstep and called my people. The kitten stayed out of my way at first, but now he tries to jump on me and horns in on my snuggle time. I had to put my paw down and remind Mama to act like a cat mama after the naughty kitten pooped outside the box. Once he learns his place I think he can stay.

Some cats have socks. It took Mom awhile to describe mine.

Mom watched the WCVB television news story on Socks, a cat who has 500,000 followers on Twitter, and was piqued by the description of his 'socks' as "anklets in the front and knee-highs in the back".

She spent quite awhile thinking about how to describe my coloration with white legs, belly, bib and a little "tie" around the back of my neck before coming up with a good description: hip waders!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

I have a sombrero but I do not like wearing it. Mommy kept trying to get a picture of me in it, though!

Maybe a picture of me taking a siesta will do. I like to nap.

I am very loved.

Last night the people who rescued me called my people to see how I was doing. Dad couldn't say enough nice things about how lovey I am and patient with the kiddo. (Sometimes she tries to pick me up and she's not quite big enough to do that well yet. She is 8 years old, so she's relatively younger than I am. I'm a teenager at a little over a year. Mrow!)

They told Dad that I used to be semi-feral and got by on things the neighborhood kids fed me because I was so friendly and lovey toward them. They took me in earlier this summer, then took me to Operation Kindness, where I got a medical checkup, shots and was neutered while waiting to find my forever home. They were pleased that I was adopted so quickly.
