After losing Adobe on August 30, 2008 everyone said he would deliver a new kitty when the time was right. I went to several pounds and contacted rescue agencies to find a kitty to fill the void left by Adobe. However no cat I saw was just right. It was upsetting not to have a kitten around, but I knew one would come into my life someday. I'm a teacher and just 3 days after Adobe passed away I began working with my new class of 10-year-olds. I have 4 table groups in the class that are all named after my pets(Team Rylie, Team Lucy, Team Zory and Team Cloud) The kids wanted to know who Cloud was and I told them it was actually Team Adobe, but I was too upset over his loss to name a group after him, so I changed it to Team Cloud. They saw how upset I was and one of them said his mom had a kitten and he'd bring it for me. I was excited and said great, but the next day he said someone else had taken the kitten already. I asked the kids to let me know if their cats had kittens...that was 3 weeks ago. I work with children of migrant workers who live in government housing. Some of them can't afford food for their own families, certainly they don't have pets, I wasn't really expecting any of them to come to school with a kitten. This whole conversation was forgotten, I figured I'd find a kitty at the pound around Christmas.
Bio: Betzy's Story:
------------------------------
I don't know where I was born, where my mom went or where my littermates are. What I do know is for the past few weeks I was hiding out in a migrant camp. I spent most of my days hiding from Pit Bulls and people yelling at me to, "Shoo!" At night I scavenged through trash to find food. About a week ago a 10-year-old boy got locked out of his house and was sitting on the steps eating. He saw me peeking out from behind a dumpster. I was scared, but he tossed some sandwich at me. He was nice, we spent a few hours playing together on the porch. When his family got home, they told him to leave that filthy kitten alone, so he told me to Shoo and went inside. The next morning I saw him leaving somewhere so I decided to follow. He ended up in a big yard full of kids. I thought they would give me food and be nice so I ran up to a group of them. But they started kicking me like a soccer ball and making tons of noise! I was really scared and couldn't get away, but suddenly that boy came back with a few other boys. They grabbed me from those kids and said they knew someone who would treat me well. They took me inside a big building with desks and books and handed me to a lady, I could tell she was excited to see me. It was as if she knew I was coming, I think maybe she had been waiting for me. She set me in a chair and told me to be quiet, I guess cats weren't allowed in that building. She said at lunch break she'd take me home. All this time I thought I was an orphan kitty destined to live life alone on the streets. Little did I know there was a family, house, toys, dishes, and food already waiting for me.

I got a new brother!
His photo is on my page. He was found right across the street from where I was found. Actually he ws found IN the street, he was almost hit by a car!
We play and wrestle a lot, I always win because he weighs 2 pounds and I'm 4lbs! I'm twice as big and about a month older.
Today we both went to the vet. I got my second set of shots and my nails trimmed. He got his first set and some vitamins because the vet said he isn't too helathy. Mom is trying to nurse him back to health. As soon as he's all better, shes going to make his Catster page.
