Arrival Story:
Well, one day dad was working in the yard, and there was little spikey, about 5-6 months old, rubbing on him. Spike came and went for a couple of days, and decided to stay. We determined he came from a house a street over that was just letting cats breed. He is very mellow and sweet. He fit right in with our elderly male cats. Dad suggested his name as a joke, and it stuck.

Spike is mostly outside. He started to spray in the house, so he can only come in supervised. He is in when it is very cold or wet outside, of course. His world was turned upside down recently with the addition of two kittens. He is a sweet guy, resorting to head-butting Uno away when he gets too annoying. The kittens adore him-the littlest one especially. He would only groom with her.

Spikey is in cat heaven today. He had an inoperable facial tumor for the better part of a year.
This past week, he had really stopped eating. He was still playing, and grooming himself.

We decided to take him to the vet last week, and she gave him a month....
She said if the tumor ruptured, it would be a painful death.

We said goodbye. I am crying too hard now to finish this propery. I know I am crying for my loss. He deserved to go peacefully and as free of pain as possible.

We love you Spikey, our big boy cat. We will all miss you. You had a whole second family in our neighborhood who will miss you too.

If there is a heaven for cats, I know you are there, as you had a sweet soul and not a single mean bone in your body.

Well, its about time, Mom.

Christmas time is here. It has been very cold out, so I have been inside, a lot. I have been being a good cat. Mom knows I did tinkle on the catbox, hey, that is what its for, I was thinking outside the box. Also, she suspects that I have marked Dad's big riding toy everyone is so excited about. humpf.

I like to sleep on Mom and Dad's bed, there is a nice blanket at the end. I stay off the pillows, and out of the way of feet as best I can.

That orange cat is so mean to me. I really try to stay closer to home. I do have a second home. They have a nice garden, and porch. The cats over there are nice, and so is the lady.

Even though she does not like me to eat there anymore.

The young ones are annoying as ever. I should teach Uno how to spray, too. Mom gets upset and distracts the poor lad when I demonstrate. She wants him to be a sissy, so fine.

I have not even bothered the tree. I am past all that, and Mom
has been praising me, especially after scolding the others.
