indoors Arrival Story: As grounds foreman of the local cemetary I see a lot of unwanted cats and dogs get dumped here because people know that someone will find them. I have had the sorry task of taking most of them to the animal shelter. Wolfie and his sister came to us ( me and the rest of the guys at the cemetery) by way of being dumped. He and his sister were in bad shape when we found them. They were half starved and sick. Wolfie's eyes were matted almost shut with infection from something. I cleaned them up and got them food and clean water, and a clean place to sleep. In a few days they were looking a lot better. Someone from the street Dept. came by and asked about his sister. They said they would like a female kitten, and could they take her? I said, sure, to a good home. So that left us with Wolfie. He became the cemetery cat. We all brought in food, and looked after him. He loved to get in the trucks and go for a ride with anyone that would let him. His right eye started to get bad again and we all thought he needed to see a Vet. As the local cat guru I got elected to take him. The vet. said that he had a viral infection in the eye, thats why I could not get it to heal up. He also said that had I not brought the cat in the eye would have ruptured and Wolfie would have lost it! Well, $150.00 and a week in my bathroom later he was on the road to a full recovery. Every day all the guys asked me about Wolfie and how he was doing. When are you going to bring him back? I broke there hearts when I said that I could not bear to part with him, but they understood. It was like it was meant to be, all the other cats in the house acted like he had always been there. Now he acts like he owns the place!! We love him. ( I had a feeling it would turn out like that the first time I saw him) Lives Remaining: 9 of 9
