Zoey, this year has been hard on you cats..Mom being so busy with three new grandbabies. The last was born a few weeks after your birthday.
Mom has had to go away for days at a time, and be gone all day at work or taking care of babies.
She comes home smelling like babies and other cats, or the dog and bird....
You always stop what you are doing when Mom comes home. You are so sweet and beautiful and loving.
Mom is worried you are not getting enough attention.
Mom loves the exclusive, spontaneous "Bathroom Kitty" performances. Always beautiful, unique and very artistic.
The towel thing with Uno was hilarious, by the way. At 4 am yet.
You are loved, baby girl.

Dad told Mom on me.
A while back, Uno let me out one night. That one door is easy to open, the others are stuck shut most of the time.
Anyhoo, there was a big RACCOON in the backyard, again. They
bother Uno, knocking on the windows, flaunting their freedom, etc.
It saw Dad and was retreating (Mom says, HA). I chased it over a fence with vines growing on it. Dad grabbed me and brought me in the house. I LET him catch me, of course. I was tired of him calling me and rattling treats. Mom slept through the whole thing, until Dad let it slip the other day after the OPOSSOM incident.
I am a "dayshift" animal, Mom says. I really love being outside at twilight, and at night. Especially when it is warm.
Mom takes up the food in the afternoon, so that I will be starving in the evening. I come in to eat, and then I am stuck inside.
Sigh

Well, the boy was in the water room, in the closet that rains. He was hollering about something, so I came out and alerted Mom and Dad, meowing loudly, and beckoning them to follow me. The deaf humans finally heard him.
BTW, my name is not Lassie!
Some thanks, shortly after that, Dad put more bells on me. Drats!
Everytime my bells ring, all the birds will take wing.
Close encounters of the opossum kind
Last night, Uno kindly let me out after dark. A HUGE rat was eating the wild cat's food. Mom heard me coming, and scared him off, right into my path. I let mom catch me and my ginormus puffy tail.
I did purr and act sweet towards her....
Oh, and this morning, I fell into the big waterbowl that is wasting space in the side yard. Mom heard me, and ran out. I just got my hiney and tail wet, but still I was embarassed and cold. I got wrapped in a towel, and dried in no time.
Not as bad as when I fell into the human's litterbox waterbowl thing.
I had to have a BATH, and it was cold out, even in the house with the heater on.
Dad was teasing mom, saying that I was going to pack a "kerchief?"
and run away for the weekend.
I don't think so. I need to keep an eye on everyone here.

The birds were harassing us cats one morning. Mom said something about making an Important Phone Call. She was talking into the black thing that rings all obnoxious, all over the house.
One sassy bird flew too low, and I got him!
I did not know what to do, and decided to come up to the big see
though door and show Mom. The bird was screeching loudly. All his bird friends were flying low and calling. Uno ran up, and so did Mom. Mom grabbed me and scruffed my neck like momma used to do. I let go of the bird.
She put Uno and I inside (hey!). The bird hopped away and flew off.
Mom made us stay inside for a while. The birds were very loud for a while after that.
Now, they make a noise at us like a cat hissing. Nasty Nasty.
Mom was all upset, running around, telling Dad on me. She
did not want to scold me. She said, if I got lost and needed to hunt
that I needed to know how. Then she went on about the "poor bird".
That is my mom. Trying to be all people to everyone.

Well, the humans have put up a lot of stuff in the TV watching room. So far, I approve. I like to sleep, hang out on a wood thing that has places inside for a lot of stuff. It is just the right height for passing pets, and to keep an eye on everyone. I can also jump on Uno and Spike when they pass by.
The boy had a bag-like thing he would drag behind him when he left in the morning. He got another one, and I love the old one. It makes the perfect bed. I love all the smells, and curling up into the shape of it. So, they have left it up there for me, saying it looks awful. Well, this is my house, folks. I happen to like it.
They have put, on my perch a bunch of little boxes. They are hard and not that good to chew on, but I could knock them all over.
They do not seem to want me to do that, so I lay in the middle of them. They also have strings with lights, and a soft while blanket thing. There are bristley little brush things, and little tiny people and animals for me to mess with. I have aquired more versions of my name, I know you all are talking about me.
Catzilla, Zozilla, and something about Christmas Village, or Tokyo? Weirdos.

Witnessed by Dad-
Zoey, out of bounds in the front yard yesterday. She did come up to the front door crying. This probably means that she does not know how to get back over the fence into the backyard.
When Dad came outside to get her, she ran from the door. He came outside. In the front yard was the neighborhood stray orange tom with no tail. A big, strong cat.
Zoey waits until Dad was a few feet from her, and she ran over and jumped in the middle of the tomcat.
They were rolling around rabbit-kicking each other for a minute.
Dad ran him off, and Zoey went under the truck and would not come out. Dad was worried that she was hurt. She was furious!!
I am afraid to let her out today. She started asking about 5 am.
I talked to her for a long time last night, and this morning. She had nothing to say for herself. I know she knows what NO FRONT YARD means.

I really wish the dog, Bali did not have to visit. This is MY HOUSE, MY HUMANS!!
It is fun to be nasty as I can. Mom got after me, but I don't care.
Bali does not like it when I stare at her. She always looks away first-she knows I am boss. I am smaller, but I am nastier-hehe.
I am so happy she is gone. I cuddled and purred for Mom last night for hours and hours. Mom rubs and scratches my face, and I love it. She says I am giving her "calico face". Whatever.
I love Mom, but I don't show it like Uno does. He just is not happy when Mom is not home, or too busy to play or pet/cuddle him.
Oh, Treya is here. I just love my little sister. I will groom her a bit, and we play for hours in the "cat forts".
Even Spikey loves them.
Uno also dragged around the feather duster for us girls, we love
chasing, and eating it. Yum.
Oh, also Auntie sent these yummy, addictive crunchy cat treats.
I got tricked off the roof the other night with them... darn.
Mom gets so upset when I am outside in the dark... she won't
give up until I am inside--party pooper.

Mom has been following me with the little box thing that flashes light sometimes. It is not food, and I will not look at her when she has it. I know she wants me to, but I won't. That is that.
I love Mom, but--she is always checking on me. I wish she would not worry.
A FEW times I have gotten stuck. Uno got Mom when she did not hear me crying. I was out front once too, and Mom found out.
I was meowing, and walking all crouched down. But, but I was really ok.
I really love the boy. He is the smallest one, and the loudest. Uno
hates it when he yells. I just meow at him when it is out of hand.
He seems to listen to me better than the humans.
His shoes are the best ever, can't beat the smells. I will chew all shoes, but I prefer his by far.
They need me to keep him in line. The birds too. They act like they own the place, you know. I make sure they stay out of the yard.
I am always happy to see them, but, they know I want to hunt them. They are more afraid of me than the boy cats, as I am more of a threat.
I seem to get the spray bottle more than the boys. I like to climb.
We are not allowed up on things in the food room. But, I will go up when I feel like it, ok?
The chairs in the food room need my scent, so I will sharpen my claws on them, too. Love to do Mom's chair, always has something of Mom's on the back for privacy. The humans FREAK. ha ha
I like it best when Treya comes, so we can gang up on Uno. He is big, but I am meaner!!!! He bites hard, though---
He can dish it out, but can't take it.
I like the other cats outside. They smell funny, and are afraid of the humans. But-Mom makes sure they have food and water in the backyard. She calls their names, too and they seem to know them, strange. They need her, you see.
I guess I do too....

My little, tiny girl, you are now almost one. The year has gone by so fast. From a little 1 lb 7 oz baby, to 10 lbs of fabulosity.
I love how much your coat has changed. You have a darling calico face and beautiful calico blanket over your back. It is so cool, as the dark patches came out and got deeper, orange patches started to appear a couple of months ago.
I am so glad you love to be brushed. It is so good for you. Even if you are not the shedmeister your brother is.
I am so happy to have a girl kitty again. You are so different from your brothers. (I think you are so brave and intellegent it is astonishing!)
You really gave Bali (my daughters dog) a bad time over the Christmas Holidays. Your staring and knocking stuff over on her on purpose really made her uneasy. I saw a whole new side of my little princess!!!
The birds outside have taken note, also. I hear them scold for hours when they see you. They know, you mean business.
You have fully lived up to your namesake, middle name Tatiana.
If you weighed 300 lbs, we would all be toast.
My darling, little predator with the compelling clear blue gaze.
Thank you so much for being my friend, I love you, and am in awe of all your talents.
