Nice of Ivan to just barely remember that it's my birthday, too. Happy birthday to US (and to the U.S.)!
And, unlike Ivan, I will wish you all a happy Fourth of July, but I will also urge you all to stay indoors tonight, and hide under the bed, like the rest of us! Though I have to admit that right now it's so quiet that it's kind of hard to imagine the chaos that will break loose tonight!
Sleepily,
Boo

We are all sobbing here at our place because we just learned that Rocky Ann crossed the Rainbow Bridge while we were absent from Catster. Don't get us wrong, we're so happy she's there with all of our Rainbow Bridge family, but she was such a rock and pillar of Catster that we are shocked she's gone. Frankly, we never paid much attention to her age. She lived a long, good life. But we are going to miss her terribly. We send our warm thoughts to her mom and dad.
Snifflingly,
Boo

I'm not Obama, but I did enter the Bissel MVP photo contest. Would you vote for me? I promise to represent you as fairly as I can to all vaccuum cleaner consumers in the country. Mom and dad own a Pet Hair Eraser vacuum cleaner, and it's da bomb (we have no financial interest in Bissel).
You can vote here.
Have a Boo-tiful evening (while we stalk the Invaders - see Ivan's diary entry of last night to get the scoop on that),

For one thing, Ivan is really bugging me today. I have finally started bugging him back every once in a while. But he's persistent, so usually it's easier to find a place that he can't get to me readily.
Still feeling very unsure about that Litter Robot thingy. Mom was thinking we were using it, but actually one of us was just getting curious about it, stepping up and sticking a head inside to sniff. Then it would sense us and perform a sifting cycle (7 minutes later). So she powered it off for the time being.
I wonder if it would be less likely for a piece of poop to escape from the Litter Robot than from the regular litter boxes. It really drives me over the edge when that happens!
Ivan and I also have yet another activity! He may have told you already, but we're on Twitter (have been for a little while). Check it out at http://twitter.com/IvanandBoo.
Have a Boo-tiful day,
Boo

Mom says I'm a meeper because I meep and burble and hiccup and snort and make all kind of funny noises. Mom gently pokes me, and I meep. Something startles me and I snort. I'm having fun playing and I burble. I'm trying to roll onto my head on mom's desk and I say "urrr!" Sometimes, when mom is really petting me thoroughly, I purble (burble and purr at the same time).
I do also meow like a normal cat, but only if I'm trying to get mom's attention.
I can scream pretty good (hmm, maybe since I'm a guy I should say I can "shout" pretty good), too, when Ivan is picking on me.
But mom says her favorite Boo sounds are the meeps.
Have a Boo-tiful evening,

I FINALLY figured out what she's doing! She's rotating our toys! So we don't get bored with them! And she is figuring out how to combine toys so that we get maximum enjoyment!
For example, she just put our Undercover Mouse out and turned it on, and she set up our cat cubes near it, so that we can hide in the cat cubes and run out and pounce on the UM! It's great!
Now, if only all of this would distract Ivan from picking on me. But so far, no such luck.

Whoa! Mom gave Ivan and me a nice big pinch of catnip. She hasn't done it in a while and was hoping it would zone us out so she could easily clip our claws. She read a vet's blog about doing that (it was not a vet on Catster, though).
Well, my Bast, it had the opposite effect! I jumped in mom's lap and started biting on her (not too hard) and rolling around pretty energetically! I never do that (I usually roll onto my head and then doze)! And Ivan was trying to bite me while I sat in mom's lap. He never does that, either! And when mom would push him away and tell him NO, he'd keep coming right back to attack me again! With me still in her lap! And with our claws needing trimming, mom was not having fun when that was going on!
Then we were running around and hissing at each other.
Not so much 'nip next time, mom has vowed! So much for us zoning out so she could clip those sharp claws!
What's this about a Litter Robot? I don't know anything about a Litter Robot...
Have a Boo-tiful evening,

Mom keeps seeing a news story headline pop up about bags of dead Siamese cats in Texas. She hasn't read the story because she knows it will upset her and all of us. But it makes her sad even seeing the headline, and it makes it even worse that it happened in Texas.
Some Texans (we won't name any names) can be SO STOOPID! They give Texas a bad name.
Well, for now we're denying that our mom has any connection to Texas. After all, we live in California now.
Have a Boo-tiful MLK Day tomorrow,
Boo

We've been on a strict diet for a month, now, and we've lost some weight! We've both got a bit of a "waist" now, and mom can feel our ribs better than before. We've also been getting more exercise - mom has found several toys that we really like, some automated, and some that she helps us play with.
What kind of diet, you ask? Well, we get 1/8 cup of kibble (EVO grain-free) twice a day, and 1/8 cup of wet food (she varies between canned EVO and Primal frozen raw food) twice a a day. That's 1/2 cup of food per cat per day. The vet says that is just right. Doesn't seem like much, but think about it: we should each weigh about 12 lbs., per the vet. Once we get to our desired weight, we'll get a little bit more a day than that, to help us maintain the proper weight.
But the new toys really are great. I think Ivan mentioned them recently: Fling-Ama-String, Undercover Mouse, and then there's the Mardi Gras beads. Yes, purple Mardi-Gras beads! Mom had an old string of them, and she was talking to Maynard's mom about how much we like "snakey" toys, and she was looking for some kind of inexpensive bead necklace that we could chase (she has some rather expensive ones that we really like, but she's afraid we'll break them). And Maynard's mom suggested Mardi Gras beads! Mom finally got the old string out, cut it in one spot, and tried it on us, and we LOVE it! We chase that beaded snake all over the place, and if we catch it, we grab it and try to bite it and bunny kick it. We also take it in our mouths and carry it around, like prey. Maynard's mom also sent a few inexpensive necklaces that she happened to have, and we love those, too.
Mom just has to remember to get the beads out every day and play with us. She has to hide them when she's not helping us play with them, because she's afraid we might eat them. Well, she's really afraid IVAN will eat them. I'm smarter than that!
Have a Boo-tiful day,
Boo
