Arrival Story:
We found Gizmo when he was 4 weeks old abandoned by his mother,he was sick with upper respitory & very dehydrated. He weighed 9 ozs. when we took him to the vet on that Sunday. I did not think he would live. He was so tiny & so weak. We brought him home after some IV fluids and some meds. We dropper fed him for 2 days, he was too weak to suck. Then we started bottle feeding him every 2-3 hours. He perked up and began to thrive. We never thought of not keeping him. We found him in our back yard, we had just moved in. Our vet said he knew to stop here we would take care of him. I guess he did choose us. He is now 4 years old. Gizmo does have Epilepsy and will always have to take medicine. But he is doing well. He now weighs 15.6 lbs. He is a Hoss. He is his Daddy's buddy.

Gizmo's Mother was abandoned in the apartment complex. Left to have her kittens and fend for herself. No Momma should have to go through that. Gizmo Tookie is a mess but he's our mess.

A Day in the Life of Gizmo

Gizmo Tookie has been with us for 4 years. Every since he was 4 weeks old. We found him in the yard right afer we had moved in. He was in a terrible shape. He was a very sick little baby. He weighed a mere 6 ozs. and was badly dehydrated.
By 6 weeks old he was a picture of happy, bouncy health. Growing so fast. He was so beautiful.
By 6 mons old he weighed over 9 lbs. He was really growing. He was still a beautiful boy.
Gizmo did develop slow, not doing things all kittens did. The vet said he was ok.
Right after his 3rd birthday he had a seizure. We did not know what to think. My son came home to find him nearing the end of the seizure.
About a 1 week later at around 2pm on a Sunday he suffered another one. We called the vet on duty and met her there. She did the T blood work and found everything to be like it should be. She gave us medicine but told us to see if he had another one before we started him on this treatment as he would have to take them forever.
He did have another one about a week later at around 1am.
We started him on the medicine. They told us to give him 1 pill 2x a day, but this proved to be to much. He was groggy and lifeless.
We cut him back to 1 pill a day and he was doing good. The vet did blood work again and said he really didn't need it it was even showing
in his system. He had another seizure. This happened 2 more times.
Thanksgiving day was the worst ever. We have put Gizmo back on his medicine for good. He was finally diagnosed with Epilepsy.
We pray he will do well on this medicine and stay with us for a long time. He has had such a rough time at times.
Pray for Gizmo Tookie to do well in the coming days and months.
He goes back for his 6 month blood work i1 10 days.
