Humane decision made this morning for George, who has succumbed to old age, kidney failure, and cancer. His strapping 13 pounds down to 5; he was too weak to walk.
He was cuddled by me and another human friend until a couple shots took effect. time of death pronounced at 10:18 Pacific Standard Time.
He was a gentleman up to the end, never missed the litter box. Even though he fell on his way out of it, and i took him to the carrier for a last journey.
He looked at those of us who petted him, even at the end. He purred. He was a quiet kittio as long as i knew him.
As for me, I know there will be another kittio in my life sooner rather than later. It was wonderful to see all the friends George had when we were not here very often.
Anyone wanting to honour him, make donations to your local cat humane organization. we have a lot of food to donate.
