Arrival Story: Jackyl actually chose me as his companion. I went to a party where they had had kittens and was offered a kitten to take home. The one that I had wanted was Jackyl, but they said they wanted to keep him and had already thought about calling him Spirit. I crashed out on their couch that night and when I woke up, Jackyl was curled up under the blankets beside me. They decided he could come home with me and he did! His name was actually the name word he responded to as a kitten. When I was naming him I tried every name I could think of and after 3 days, I looked at him and said you look just like an egyption jackyl...(as a kitten he was super skinny and had "satellite ears"- big ears and a little head) and he turned and looked at me. so that was his name.

Bio: He has been with me for 9 years now and even ran away for 6 months of that time (I brought a dog into the house, he ran away lol) . the day I moved into a smaller apt. and my dog went to my mom's house, I got a call telling me that someone had found Jackyl. I called the number they gave me and the lady asked me what type of collar he had been wearing (it was a studded black leather small dog collar because cat ones don't fit him!). I gave her the info and took a picture of him over to her house. He is back home again with me now and as happy as can be! I'm very lucky he chose to be found considering I searched hi and low for him!
Jackyl is also one of the most gentle cats I've ever seen. He will allow children (even babies) to hug him, kiss him, and try to pet him (even if it means pulling fur accidentally). He's never scratched, bitten, hissed or reacted to anything with kids. He just gets up and walks away when he's had enough kid attention. He is definatly a gentle, lovable kittybear!
