Arrival Story: The humans next door brought me home. I remember I had a nice cozy home with my (kitty) mommy and littermates. I really really liked people. When I arrived at my new home, it was dirty, loud, only minimal food available and I was always sick because they didn't even provide me with the most basic health care. They didn't neuter me either, even though I don't exactly know what that means. I was always in fights with other cats and usually beat up. I became afraid of humans as a result of my neglect. I always liked the Lady next door though. My little friend, Gwynnie, was the Lady's sorta-cat and she got lots of food and shelter and went to the doc when ever she was sick or injured. She seemed very happy over there. I decided to give it a go. At first the Lady didn't want me to eat, but I just took Gwynn's food. So she started feeding me, too. She seemed nice. She sure knew how to talk to me, and boy oh boy, she was generous with the food! Had me a full tummy everytime I went over there! I would let her pet me a little (as long as she was holding a dish of food in the other hand) but I shunned away from much contact. My so-called People would come looking for me at the Lady's house sometimes 'cause I didn't hang around much in their yard anymore. I would dissapear sometimes for weeks. I got really badly injured one time. I never told anybody what got me, but I almost died. I managed to not get caught though, so I recovered on my own, but lost one life. I lived like that for several years.

Bio: So I fed Jinxy for a few years, providing him with what he would accept. One day I noticed he could barely eat his food, and sent my husband over to tell the neighbor the cat needed medical attention (I thought it was an abcess). The neighbor said that if I wanted to pay for it, I could take him in and he would be my cat. Gee, thanks. So, I took Jinxy into my vet (fasted him overnight) and we neutered him, got him his shots, ck'd for FIV and Felv (both neg) and his "abcess" was evaluated. Turns out he has a very painful disease called Stomatitis coupled with Eosinophilic Granuloma Complex. Once he was neutered, he was an absolute darling. Became more and more affectionate every day. I still remember the first time he purred for me. I don't think he'd purred in years. My vet and I treated him w/ steroids and antibiotics for a couple of years for the Stomatitis. Eventually the disease stopped responding and I took him to the kitty dentist. It took two surgeries, but we removed all of his teeth, except his fangs and the tiny teeth in between them. It was radical, but he's SO happy now. He eats normally and is very greatful I think. Follows me everywhere, purrs constantly, and his tail is ALWAYS up in the air. (by the way, I don't know by what miracle it happened, but he doesn't spray) I think Jinxy lost a few lives due to his health and adventures, but I hope he will live to a ripe old age under my care and attention. BTW, I changed his name from "binx" to Jinx.

I love my Mommy. I love her so much that yesterday I went and caught a mouse for her! When I brought it in and dropped it at her feet she couldn't have been more thrilled I think. (of course I had taken it's life - I wouldn't give mommy a live one) She oooohed and awwwed and praised me so much! She said she was going to keep it in the Extra Special Super Fantastic Gift Receptacle! Oh boy!
