Arrival Story:
We got Sam at the Pat Brody Shelter for Cats in June of 2002. He had been found as a stray in Leominster Ma. and brought to a veterinary hospital where he ended up needing surgery on an infection. After he healed he was taken to the shelter where he lived with about 75 other cats until we showed up. I noticed him because he was knee high (an unusual trait for a domestic cat) and sitting calmly and quietly in the middle of the outdoor play area. I petted him, sat down next to him, and he promptly crawled into my lap and fell asleep. After about 20 minutes I needed to move so I handed the cat off to my sweetie. When I came back, kitty was asleep on my sweeties lap. Clearly this cat needed to come home with us. Within five minutes of coming home he had found his food and water and settled comfortably onto a bed. Because of his surgery he hadn't yet had his shots so we had to watch him very closely the first few months. In September of 2002 we got him his shots and fixed up a few other minor health issues and he's been happily lounging with us ever since.

Bio:
Sam pretty much loves everyone that comes through our door, particularly those people who are allergic to him. He also keeps an intermittently updated journal at livejournal.com as samthecat.
