Arrival Story:
May 1, 2006 TimmyCat, having lived a very good life, passed away unexpectedly this morning. He will be missed.

Bio:
Wanted an indoor kitty - went to the local shelter, which was quarantined at the time, and they recommended the local pound. Timmy had been brought in two days earlier and refused to eat or get out of the litter box. Apparently, his owners had moved and neglected to take him along, so a neighbor caught him and surrendered him to the shelter. There were numerous cats milling around, crying for attention but I kept going back to Timmy. We removed him from his cage and he immediately hid in a corner - Timid Timmy. After coaxing him from his hiding place, the volunteer offered to return him to his cage but I told her he had a home with us. Timmy was less than thrilled to meet Morgan, his Rottweiler sister, and hid behind the dryer for several days, only coming out to eat. It took him a while but he overcame his shyness (Did he ever!) and his fear of Morgan, who is his surrogate mother (She even bathes him - does better than I do!). Timmy is now a demanding boy - demands treats, demands attention, demands to be allowed anywhere he pleases. He thoroughly enjoys birdwatching with Ida and, when we take him outdoors, he "becomes one with the ground" and will watch the birds for hours on end. Luckily, he's never tried to catch one - he seems content just to watch.
