Arrival Story:
I was born in Bellefonte, PA, near State College, some place where there are "Nittany Lions", whatever those are! My mom is Ewok, a black Sphynx and she's quite the looker, and my dad is Tommy Sockeater, a big cream colored Sphynx with blue eyes. You can see how I have one grey paw and three pink paws, and half of my face is pink, and the other half is grey and black. I just arrived in Philadelphia, to my new mom and dad, and older brother Kojak.

I come from a litter of four girls, three torties and one cream colored girl with blue eyes. One of my sisters is off to Italy, to start a breeding program there (you can see her in one of the photos). Arrividerci, Kitti! Kind of funny that I ended up in South Philly, I'm told the humans here eat lots of pasta too. I wonder if I will? So far, so good, my older brother Kojak and I have taken to chasing each other all through my new house. I don't know why he has a problem with me jumping into his heated bed, why it looks just like mine! My name is Sputnik because my parents think I look like I came from outer space! Plus Sputnik literally means "satellite" or "companion" in Russian. My dad loves being woken up by his little companion, right as he begins to fall asleep. I paw at his face because I am sure he didn't want to go to sleep just as me and Kojak are getting revved up!

Hey, where did that tree go that was in the living room? I liked hearing mom and dad freak out when I tried to chew these little round glowy orbs on it. The other day there were lots of humans over, lots of noise, and all of a sudden about 20 toys all over the floor. The best toy was the big bag with papers and ribbon in it. Koj told me something about some big guy in a red suit that we were supposed to hear on the roof. I tend to sleep through even the loudest of noises.

Mice are nice

I like all my new friends in Philly, especially this red mouse named "Redman" who's always lurking in the living room. He likes to hide between the sofa cushions, but I can usually get him out. My Mom sometimes picks him up and throws him around, I don't know why she does it, but it gets me all crazy to see Redman airborne. I don't know how much he likes it though.

First trip to vet with new parents and my new Auntie Jen

I got a checkup today, and a rabies shot. My Auntie Jen drove us there. She is very nice and generous with me and my brother. Sometimes she takes care of Kojak when our parents are gone. As long as you feed him, and let him sleep on your lap for 3 hours a night, he likes you. I guess that I'm pretty much the same way, truth be told. It was cold outside so my Dad covered my travel crate with a blanket. I didn't know where I was going. My older brother Kojak never learns about the cold. I saw him meow at the back door wanting to go on the porch, and Daddy opened the door for him. Well, Kojak got a burst of cold air and he RAN all the way to the other side of the house! He'll meow again tommorow to go out, and the wind will surprise him AGAIN. Don't tell anyone that he is my brother, because it's embarassing when he does stuff like that.

The vet was really nice and the only thing that bothered me was the shot. It was over quickly though, and I forgot all about it. I got a clean bill of health and went home to rest up for me and Kojak's next 'supervised play session'. No need for that, I can handle HIM.
