Sorry to be gone for so long....
The biggest thing is the lost of my friend, Queen Tallulah...what a wonderful lady she was! Queen Tallulah was a mammary cancer survivor and fought it well...However, even with the chemo, the cancer came back. Our beautiful friend crossed the Rainbow Bridge on August the 23rd, 2010.
If you knew her, you were blessed...if you did not, please visit her page at:

We also have some bad news in our household...please visit my Aunt Tabitha's page to find out...it is too hard for me to write it out again

This is from Mommy Cassandra...
Sorry I have not been on with the kitties for awhile. Things have been in a uproar around the house. And the weather has left us feeling meh.
And now that we are into hurricane season, I would like to bring up something for all mommies and daddies to consider. That is a good emergency plan for their pets also in case of a disaster. If you remember after Hurricane Katrina, thousands of pets were left behind because their owners HAD to leave fast and there were no places to take them. So here are some things you might want to put into action now.
1. Right now, even before anything may happen, search your area for motels and hotels that will take in cats and dogs. Go from 50 to 100 miles away from your house in any direction you may have to travel. This is important. Not all emergency shelters will take animals. You may have to leave, you family, relatives...so if you do have friends out of town, will they let you stay there with your pet/pets?
2. As soon as hurricane season starts, I make a "pet survival" kit...this includes their pet food, bottle water, any meds they are on, veterinary records, litter pan with litter, food dishes, first aid kit and some toys. I keep it in a large plastic container.
3. Make sure all id tags are up to date and on their collars. Take current photo's of your pet and put that with the kit.
4. Have one secure pet carrier for each pet. In times like this, when you are stress, they will be also. Make sure to bring along a harness and leash.
5. In the rush, make sure YOU have enough money! In times of disasters, people do NOT think, and the banks will be closed. Again, once a week, put a little money a side in your pet survival kit. You will have it on hand if you need it.
I am sure there are other things I could add to this, but I wanted to get this out. I was born and raised in New Orleans, and now my husband and I live in a small town to the west of it. I have been flooded out three times...I know how it is. I am thankful that I have not lost any pets to it. Please plan now, this can also apply for any sort of disaster. Be safe, and protect your furbabies!
Love and Blessings,
Mommy Cassandra...and Hook

Mommy was not feeling well early today so she went to take a nap. Daddy was in the the 2nd bedroom, cleaning it out, so...
Being bored, I decided to go climbing around the kitchen. Now, I know where everything is that is NOT stuck in a cabinet, but being ME, I just have to look and prowl around anyway.
Mommy has some open shelves right by the door between the kitchen and their bedroom. That is where they keep all the large covered, plastic containers...like OUR CAT FOOD!
I managed to get on the third shelf, real quiet like...got up behind the container, tried to open it, but it would not! So slowly I pushed it to the edge of the shelf, and BAMB, it hits the floor and food goes everywhere.
Mommy wakes up and can see the cat food on the floor in the kitchen from the bed...here comes Daddy around the corner from the other way and sees it too. I am still stuck up in the shelf with no place to run...oh noes!
Daddy gets on the floor with the broom, trying to get it all...cursing under his breath. Then I heard Mommy laughing, YES...laughing at all of this. Daddy looks up at me and says that if did not love me as much as he did, he would be sweeping me up too. Then he starts laughing also. When he is done, he gets up, grabs me off of the shelf, and brings me by Mommy. I then watch him take the food container, with fresh food in it, and put it into one of the CLOSED CABINETS...hey, that's not fun!
