Arrival Story:
My old roommate, Mandy, and I got him when we moved into our house in Milledgeville, GA. He was nearly a year old, and had been living in a shelter since he was a tiny kitten. They told us that he'd ignore us for a week or so, and warned us that he did not like to have his belly rubbed. In reality, he ran around the house for about 10 minutes before lying on his back and practically begging for a good belly rub. He was named after the cat in Harry Potter, though I also sometimes claim he was named after George Cruikshank, who illustrated some early Dickens works, since he came from an orphanage.
Bio:
Lived in Milledgeville with me for two years, then spent the summer with me at my parents house, now lives with me in downtown Chicago. Every time you stick a key in the keyhole, he meows as if on cue. He really seems to enjoy chasing his toys on the hardwood floor, and has gotten good at doing somersaults while chasing them. Other than toys and a bit of chicken, he really wants little more out of life than to sit on any lap that's handy (LOVES strangers) and purr noisily.
Crookshanks is currently very happy as an only-cat, but he's had feline roommates before. He gets along very well with others - particularly other boys.
