   Leave a treat for Jupiter

Jumpin' Jupiter, Buddy Boy, Penguin Breath, Wind-up Cat, Big Guy, Big Blond, Buttercup, Pink Panther

Quick Bio:
-mixed breed-pound cat-cat rescue

Ninja PepperKorn. Also tummy rubs, being picked up, cuddling, watching TV, romping.

When the food dish is less than full.

Favorite Toy:
The blue catnip fish, and anything that can be thrown, caught, wrestled or chased.

Favorite Nap Spot:
In bed, preferably nestled in someone's arms or cuddling with Ninja PepperKorn.

Favorite Food:
Royal Canin, but he'd probably eat anything he can get hold of. He loves treats, especially Kitty Caviar

He's surprisingly agile and graceful considering his size. Does a cool impersonation of Hobbs pouncing on Calvin. Loves to sing, also.

Arrival Story:
We adopted him from a local no-kill shelter in March 2002. I was enchanted with his distinctive appearance and blue-grey eyes the first time we met, but he was mainly interested in taking a nap. My partner and I wanted to adopt the best possible match for our household, so we interacted with several cats over the next few days, and I wished we could bring most of them home with us. Our second meeting with Jupiter was more reciprical, as he was very playful and charmed my life partner with his frequent chirping. The third time we visited, he recognized us and met us at the door. We brought him home that day. He still usually greets us at the door when we've been out, and insists upon being picked up and carried as if he were a 2 pound kitten instead of a behemoth.

Jupiter is one of the most good-natured, easy-going cats I've ever known. He likes to play rough, and often surprises the other cats by bouncing on them like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh, but it's all in fun. He and Ninja PepperKorn have a wonderfully close bond. Jupiter has an unusual vocabulary--his meows and purrs are augmented by continual, sustained chirps (hence the nickname, "Wind-up Cat"), snorts and grunts. To our amazement, he taught Ninja PepperKorn to snort and grunt!
