Well everyone has probably heard the news. There's not much to say at this point. I might not have always wanted to keep Pepi. I had hoped I could foster kitties and help them find good homes. But Pepi would have none of it. She still purrs when she's near me, sometimes without any prompting. Truth is, if someone did adopt her, I'd be worried about how she is and scared that she would be returned, abandoned, or surrendered to the pound. I get attached to things, people, and animals quickly. It would have been really hard to let her go. She's not the easiest of cats. She hates being held which makes trimming her claws difficult. I have more scratches from her than all my other cats combined. Mostly it's because she wants to make biscuits on my arm when I go to bed. Her being so territorial made Josie's life miserable until I had to find her a new home. At least with Josie, it worked out for the best.
But I love her and would never give her up now despite her faults. It does mean I can't foster, but I'm not sure if I have enough time for three kitties especially with one as demanding as Pepi. She gets along well with my friends too once she gets to know them. She also avoids my brother because she knows he will try and cuddle her and she hates that.
So that's about it. We'll miss Caster and how we'd share stories and our lives. If there's a replacement somewhere, I may join it or I may end this social media and move on. I'm not sure yet. As pet owners we know we will outlive our pets, that one day they will pass on and leave us behind. Yet we still open our hearts despite the future pain we will endure. But websites are different and how we will decide whether or not to find a new cyberhome for our cat web pages will have to be answered by everyone in their own way.
