Arrival Story:
I hear people say that I have quite a story to tell. I know most of it, but I was a baby when the story happened so I'm just glad it's way in the past for me now and I don't remember it. My mother had three babies and she was the best mom I could have hoped for. But she wasn't treated well, that's for sure. There was a very mean person who used her as target practice with his bb gun. She ended up with an eye that couldn't see. Then he chopped off her tail with a machete, and buried her alive. My siblings and I were frantic to find Mama, we were trying desperately to get to her. But we were very tiny kittens, our little paws didn't make a dent in the dirt above her. There was a hero who saw us, though, and saved Mama. Thank you, Hero! Almost Home Foundation was our second hero. All of Mama's medical needs were taken care of, and they kept us together so my siblings and I could be normal kittens with a mother. When we were old enough I got to have my own foster Daddy. I liked him instantly and decided to stay. It took six months of adoption show failures to convince him to keep me.

Bio:
My sister Skeeter is still looking for a home. Please, if anyone is in Chicago's NW burbs and wants an awesome kitty, give her a home. You won't regret it!

Life of a former foster kitten

It was HORRIBLE!

Daddy came home from work tonight and scooped me up into Lena's carrier (she went to the V-E-T last Friday and Daddy left the carrier out). We went to the pet food store to get my nails trimmed. We had to wait in line about 45 minutes with over a dozen dogs. Most were well behaved but this one yappy puppy was barking nearly the entire time. She had this high pitched yap that hurt my hears and she would NOT SHUT UP. I was so stressed that I hardly noticed getting pulled out of the carrier, turned on my back, and having my claws trimmed.

When we finally got home I hissed a lot. Daddy gave me treats for behaving myself. We're going to try and keep my claws trimmed at home so I won't have to go through that again. My ears still hurt.

I gotta cat tree!

When Daddy was returning home from running errands he saw the people across the street were throwing out a lot of stuff. He went over to see if anything was worth salvaging. One of the things they were tossing was a small cat tree. It has a tube on the bottom and a cradle on top so it's just a few feet high. He wondered what happened to the cat because he saw a kitty outside a few nights ago that wasn't scared of people or being outside but not all that eager to be petted by a stranger. We hope there's no connection between them.

Anyway I got the tree! Daddy put it by the window where we usually watch the wildlife. There's really no other place to put it. I saw in the cradle a few times and I think I like it. Of course now that the laundry is done I'm sitting in the basket. What self-respecting kitty doesn't?! MOL But hey, a free kitty tree isn't something to pass over!

Vet Time

As Lena noted, we went to the vet today. I lost 6oz which is good but all of us have ear infections which is bad. We have to take medicine twice a day now. At least I don't have to go back for a while. To encourage Lena to eat more Dad is going to be putting her in the half bathroom with yummy canned food occasionally and I CAN'T HAVE ANY!!1!ELEVENTY!

We also got word about Josie. She's doing very well. Her Mom came along when she needed a new home and Josie was available when her Mom needed a new kitty. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you get REALLY lucky. Good for her. Plus she's not here anymore.
