Arrival Story:
I hear people say that I have quite a story to tell. I know most of it, but I was a baby when the story happened so I'm just glad it's way in the past for me now and I don't remember it. My mother had three babies and she was the best mom I could have hoped for. But she wasn't treated well, that's for sure. There was a very mean person who used her as target practice with his bb gun. She ended up with an eye that couldn't see. Then he chopped off her tail with a machete, and buried her alive. My siblings and I were frantic to find Mama, we were trying desperately to get to her. But we were very tiny kittens, our little paws didn't make a dent in the dirt above her. There was a hero who saw us, though, and saved Mama. Thank you, Hero! Almost Home Foundation was our second hero. All of Mama's medical needs were taken care of, and they kept us together so my siblings and I could be normal kittens with a mother. When we were old enough I got to have my own foster Daddy. I liked him instantly and decided to stay. It took six months of adoption show failures to convince him to keep me.

My sister Skeeter is still looking for a home. Please, if anyone is in Chicago's NW burbs and wants an awesome kitty, give her a home. You won't regret it!

Sis has been feeling really bad lately. She would hide and sleep most of the time. I was only able to get a reaction out of her when I sniffed too close. Daddy had to take her to the vet one last time. Now it's just the two of us for now. I wonder how I'll like being the only kitty here. We'll try it for a few months, but given how I treated Josie I'll have to really be wanting a new sibling before Daddy will adopt another kitty.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes everyone! Daddy isn't on Catster so much because you can't comment on diaries anymore. Why say something if no one can say something back, right? Daddy was pretty much out of commission this weekend because of illness. Lena and I gave him healing purrs and he's getting over it. I lost a few ounces since my last vet check-up. I also got some doodie stuck to my fur and Daddy had to go through the hair on my butt several times with the flea comb to get it all out. I hated it but I can't argue with the results. Anyway I'm sitting in my favorite chair now grooming myself and sleeping. It's nice to have a good home.

Daddy came home from work tonight and scooped me up into Lena's carrier (she went to the V-E-T last Friday and Daddy left the carrier out). We went to the pet food store to get my nails trimmed. We had to wait in line about 45 minutes with over a dozen dogs. Most were well behaved but this one yappy puppy was barking nearly the entire time. She had this high pitched yap that hurt my hears and she would NOT SHUT UP. I was so stressed that I hardly noticed getting pulled out of the carrier, turned on my back, and having my claws trimmed.

When we finally got home I hissed a lot. Daddy gave me treats for behaving myself. We're going to try and keep my claws trimmed at home so I won't have to go through that again. My ears still hurt.
