Arrival Story:
My neighbors, who are truck farmers, asked me if I knew anyone who wanted a kitten, as someone had dropped one off at their barn. A tomcat who'd previously taken up residence was starting to bother her, and she, at 4 months, was too young to be a mother, so I said I'd have her spayed. While I was waiting for the surgery appointment, I remembered that my friend Sue had mentioned some months previously that she had "an opening" for a cat. Hmmm. . . .I called Sue, who said immediately, "I'll take her as long as she tests negative." Polly tested negative, was spayed and vaccinated, and I delivered her to Sue's home, where she's making friends with Molly, Sue's other cat who's still young. Sue is pleased; my neighbors and I are relieved, and Polly is loved, cared for, and happy!
Bio:
Although Sue provided food, water, and litterbox for Polly near the corner which had become her safe place, Sue knew Polly was eating and drinking but there was nothing in the litterbox. This was worrisome to both Sue and me. However, several days later, when I had lunch with Sue, she told me that Polly must've followed Molly and found the regular litterboxes on her own - up a *steep* flight of stairs. Sue and I were incredulous that Polly was able to get up those steps - she's one smart and determined little girl.
