Arrival Story: My current residence was owned by my uncle. When he died, a lady purchased the house from his estate. When she moved, she left Mighty Moe behind (along with his few toys, an old litter box, and some food) because she could not (or would not) care for him. Moe was a street cat who spent some of his time indoors. Weeks later, her grandson called me back wanting him back with no offer for the time, love, and considerable expense spent on his well being. The doctor found out Moe has a condition which would not allow him to run the streets anymore, and the only reason he wanted Moe back was apparently because the cat was his possession. The grand-daugher (Moe's former owner and widow, who's late husband owned Moe as a kitten) confirmed Moe was sick when he was given to me. I defended Moe, and he and I have become best friends. I've known him since he was 3, and although his health is an ongoing concern, the vet feels he will have a long life, and the groomers love his visits.

Bio: Moe was taken from his litter at 4 weeks, so he has some issues dealing with people. Also being a Maine Coon, he is kittenish anyway. I met him in October 2004 (when he was 3.5 years old), and he was still wild at the time. The last time he was allowed to roam was December 25, 2004, and after worrying about him and the snow, I promised I would not let him go anymore. He was shivering cold and was ready for a nice warm bed and a good meal. Moe is one of the few cats who will answer to his own name, and he likes to play. He will stay close by me when outside, and he likes to eat grass, sniff the ground, and smell the flowers in the yard. He has white shirt patch, and he also has small touches of white on the paws.

Lives Remaining: 6 of 9

It's been a busy year sitting in the window looking at the cars going by; sleeping on the couch, bed, or recliner; managing how the housework is done; and chasing off Tippy when I want to be loved or sleep with my best friend (my owner).

I recently learned how to look out the front picture window like my sister, Tippy. I plop myself across the table and halfway jump twice from the table to get into the window. Tippy and I fight for position sometimes, but we both can agree to look out at the same time sometimes.

I lost one of my canine teeth over the weekend. The vet put me on antibiotics just to be safe. We'll be keeping the tooth as a keepsake since it cannot be replaced.
My daddy loves me anyway.
Don't forget -- Happy Easter!
