Arrival Story: I was living on the street, already pregnant at a tender age, and had bugs in my ears and on my body. One night I decided to rest at a house were there was another kitty sitting in the window. I was there for a little bit when a lady human came home. The kitty in the window meowed and meowed. The lady human thought this odd and looked around the yard to see what the fuss was about. That's when she found me. I made real cute for her and it must have worked because she took me inside the house.
Two other lady humans gave me my own room with a bed, food and water. Boy was I hungry!
A few days later the lady humans took me to the doctor. I got some medicine for my bugs...inside and out. It was a relief when I didn't itch all over anymore! I got an appointment to come back a few days later for a "spay." I didn't know what that meant then.
I met another lady human there that day too. She held me and I made cute with her too. She said something about giving me a fur-ever home, but that I needed to be "tested" first? Wow. I hoped the test wouldn't be too hard.
Well, I don't remember much about the second visit. I know I woke up and my tummy hurt, but I wasn't pregnant anymore. The next morning, my rescuers and the lady who said I needed to take a test were back. As it turned out, taking a test meant getting poked with a needle! I wasn't happy, but I did pass. With that, my rescuers sadly waved goodbye and I was wisked off to my fur-ever home with my new mama.

Bio: I want to say thank you to all of you who helped me get a fur-ever home and finally get a name. Pixie (805489) is the meowing kitty that raised the alarm and ultimately saved me from life on the streets. I think she knew her kind hearted moms would help me, and of course, they did.
Rufus' (773009) mommy suggested the name Maya. Mama then put my name up to a vote with all you Catsters -- Tyra, Maya or other suggestions and Maya was the overwhelming favorite. Then, Princess Pennelope Prudence (580038) suggested the spelling Maija which mama really liked.
So, there you have it...thanks to all of you...here I am!
